Great Course
My family played Leopards Chase Saturday… What a Course!! It is tough, unyielding, with lots of sand and lots of water as well as waste areas. It’s in great shape. Greens were a bit furry but rolled true. Fairways are are in good shape. The greenside bunkers could use more sand. We’ll be back again. Bring your A game to this course!!
Enjoyable
Nice fair course that is very playable. Doesn’t try to trick you or is brutally hard. Everyone in the group agreed it was a course we would return to.
Excellent
Really enjoyed the course. Will be playing this one again. My son and I had a great time!
Thank you for the wonderful Five Star review of Leopard’s Chase. We truly appreciate your patronage and your feedback. Be sure to check out the other three Big Cats courses as well. Thanks again!

Avoid Leopards Chase and Panthers Run
Unbelievable! First course was Panthers Run. 5:5 hr round. Marshall didn’t care. Blamed slow play on 9 minute tee time spacing. 5 groups on par 3’s. And, terrible fairway and green conditions.
Second course Tigre’s Eye. Much better. Played with locals in just over 4 hours. Better conditions all around.
Third round at Leopards Chase. Beautiful course and great conditions. However, we walked off after 13 holes in over 4 hrs to find 3 groups on 14th hole tee deck. Staff responded “well we told people to pick it up what do you want me to do!” What do I want you to do? Marshal and remove slow players from the course after fair warning. This is not the North Carolina golf experience I was led to believe available.
Good Morning. Thank you for taking the time to review your visit to Leopard's Chase. I am glad to hear you felt the course conditions and layout were great. We apologize for the slower than usual play during your round. This is the busiest week of the busiest month of the year and most of the area courses are booked heavily, which can contribute to slower than ideal rounds. Our course marshals definitely do their best to keep play moving at a reasonable pace, but, depending on a great many circumstances, this is not always possible. As you can imagine, we certainly do not want to place any of our employees in a situation that could lead to a physical altercation, especially when alcohol consumption is involved. Removing a group forcibly from a course is not as easy as it sounds. In the most extreme of circumstances, we would call the police for assistance and, believe me, that is always a Lose/Lose situation for both the golfers and the course. So we deeply apologize for the slow pace of play on this particular date. That is certainly not our goal or intention and is actually a very rare occurrence at Leopard's Chase. If you will contact me at blong@oceanridge.com, I would be happy to work with you to try to help rectify this situation.
Well manicured, challenging course
Only played front 9 but course was in great condition compared to others in the area. Setup is tight and challenging but provided a great round. Fantastic value.
Very nice
Played panthers, and tigers as well this weekend. Both were very nice but leopards was my favorite! Greens were sweet. Layout is very cool. Smallest club house of the cat courses but definitely the slickest track! 5 stars! Great bang for your buck.
Thank you for the awesome Five Star review of Leopard's Chase! We are looking forward to seeing you again soon! Be sure to check out the other three Big Cats courses as well!
Great layout, good conditions, absolutely a waste of your time
Course is in a 9.5/10 condition, member checking us in was incredibly rude however course staff was great. Bob was a great guy and took the time to share with us the do’s and dont’s of the course. Took 1 hour and 15 minutes to play 8 holes and it went down hill incredibly fast. We waited 15+ minutes on every tee box for the remainder of the holes. Golf can be played slow and the two foursomes in front of us preceded to exemplify that. Waiting for the group to all take 2+ tee shots and line up every putt for a double or forse is just sad. The ranger passed us twice (nice guy) but did not do anything to move the groups along. Great course, beautiful views but if it was free to play I would honestly consider not playing due to my group waiting for over 4.5 hours for 10 holes.
Great Layout
This was my first time playing this course. I was not disappointed at all and thought it was a very nice course. The staff were quite friendly and I ended up getting paired with a nice couple who were on holiday like myself. There were a few dry areas here and there but this did not in any way diminish the overall attributes of the course. The greens were a little bit on the slower side but not slow to the point where it became a big problem. This obviously depends upon one’s personal preference.
Overall, this was a win, win and I would definitely like to play this again along with Tiger’s Eye as well.

Tough course
Played in a howling wind made it plenty difficult
Best greens in a month of play.

Amazing course
We played on a windy Tuesday afternoon. The layout is really amazing with high bunkers and water hazards all over the place. On some holes it's hard to see the fairway from the tee box because of all the hazards. But it is a fair course which is in a really good shape for this time of the year. Tee boxes and fairways (and cart paths) are the best we have seen so far. Greens, especially on the back nine, look great but are still slow. The wind was really giving us a hard time, especially on the last 3 holes, but the layouts of those holes are just breathtaking. The round ends with a picture perfect hole with a little waterfall in front of the green. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely play there again, but the other big cats courses look great, too. So we might play there first.
