The Metropolitan Golf Links

Lots of recent rain, no problem... excellent drainage. It is fun to have a links course and be able to play the ball on the ground. Great variety style of course to everything else around.

Putter a better option than wedge around the green with tight firm grass. Wind was really up the day I played, like playing in Scotland.

This course drains well .. So glad I was able to play ...

Had to wait at every hole for our turn. Took us more than 4 hours to finish 14 holes. I gave up on the play after that. Why aren't there patrolling Marshalls to monitor the pace?

I like the layout which makes me question why I don’t play here more often. Maybe it’s the lack of trees or memorable landmarks. It is a links style course so maybe that’s my issue, because each hole is pretty straight forward … you can for the most part miss your fairway and still be in a position to get back to the green you are playing.

Conditions are where they could do better. I found myself hitting out of divots and hard pan a few times too many.

However, for the $30 twilight rate, it was a bargain. My only issue I had was at the pro shop. The guy (head pro) who checked me in, claimed that my reservation didn’t include a cart. I didn’t question what he said until I walked out of the pro shop by looking at my reservation online and saw it did. I ended up walking the front nine, but came back into the pro shop at the turn to request the cart which a different guy gave me.

The greens were in great shape. Course conditions were ok except for many bare spots.

I play this course once a week,usually at twilight times, and pace of play is good. This time I Teed off at 1245 and pace of play was glacial. 5 4’s and a 3 in front of me meant waiting on every shot. Tee times should be at least 12 min apart to have decent spacing between groups

I wasn't feeling well and had to discontinue playing after 9 holes .. Can you, or are you able to, comp my round the next time I come to play there? I really would like to get my monies worth..

Pacel of play was better than the last time and course conditions were about the same. Greens were good but, fairways still need work.

Pace of play is good on front nine but, really slows down on back nine. I have noticed the last few times I played metro. Golf groups were starting on the back nine and not the front nine which slows down the pace a lot. Course conditions are as good as they have been.
