course conditions
Fairways had lots of bare and dry spots and greens where just punched.
Don't play here
This is a cow pasture. Flat, junky fairways with no trees. Not worth playing.
First time, definitely not the last time!
Course was really fun and well-maintained! . Awesome staff at the bar, pro shop, and cart return. Can’t wait to play again!
Need better maintenance
Course needs good maintenance. Pace was really slow when I played in the afternoon. I was told there was a tournament for people with disabilities. But they needed to manage this better.
Fun & reasonably challenging course
A nice variety of holes. Winds can provide interesting challenges on several holes.
Solid course and facilities
First time playing here and was pretty impressed. There are a ton of geese so watch out for that, and for me the pace of play was just a bit too slow. Otherwise it was amazing
Plucked from Scotland
This course is quite unusual for America, in that the terrain is fairly natural and can be rough around the edges, which reminded me of Golf in Scotland!.Links Style layout has the wind for defense, and it is both fun and challenging at the same time. Greens were very nice, fast enough though not lightning quick. Practice facilities are over the top with four different pods,
Underwhelmed with the course due to high expectations.
I have heard about Metro course for a while with pretty good comments, so always thought about playing here. Today is the first time, but it was a little bit negative.
The first issue may not be directly due to the course. It’s way too windy. affecting the play isn’t as much an issue as feeling unpleasant playing under the environment. I played in the afternoon.
The other issue is the fairways are barely recognizable. The course marks each green with the hole number. That’s helpful, but also certainly for a reason. Otherwise it’d be confusing. Additionally the fairways are pretty much just soil with little grass. It’s solid, very hard. This helps the ball rolling further though.
The greens are aerated and sanded, but there’s no note about that, unlike some other courses. Overall the course is not well maintained, managed, or taken care of.
The layout is very interesting, and sometimes challenging. It could have been a much better, more pleasant, playing experience that I imagine. It may be like that in the past, as the overall review is not too bad.
Just rain the day before, and the course was in great shape (drains well) ...
East Bay Must Play
Metro is an awesome links course.
Plenty of open space to hit the ball.
Lots and lots of practice space.
Expect 4 1/2 hour day. They tend to send you off without a marshal. So it can back up. Just play that extra ball.
