Brooksville Country Club
About
Brooksville Country Club offers a uniquely scenic experience with a rolling landscape covered with live oaks and remnants of the abandoned limestone mine still present throughout. The surroundings are unlike any other golf courses in central Florida, which has made it popular amongst both locals and visitors. Besides the beautiful scenery, the terrain provides dramatic elevation changes that make each hole unique. The traditional layout features contoured, rolling fairways and four memorable holes that play along and through a century-old quarry. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging as you head towards the back nine, which was designed by Bobby Weed. It is a layout that demands precision and rewards skillful shotmaking. In addition to the unique setting and challenging design, Brooksville Country Club also boasts immaculately conditioned fairways and greens.

This quarry hoole will challenge your driver and mid irons. Photo submitted by Edsgolfin on 10/18/2012
Gonna play the 4 Signature holes.
Staff was great. Greens were in good shape, very tricky, fast. Could use more grass on the Fairways, but it was alright. Best part is the 4 Callenging Signature holes, a must play. Gotta get back to this course soon for my rematch. Lots of fun to play.
Brooksville Country Club
The greens were not in good condition. Lumpy and bumpy in many parts with weeds growing throughout.
The staff really didn’t know what was going on and it wasn’t managed well. On hole 4 & 5, they turned on the sprinklers while we weee playing. When we called the proshop she said it was a maintenance issue and they are trying to fix it. Later we found out that wasn’t true and they just wanted to water the grass at 8:50 am while people were in the course with no warning. They couldn’t care less…
The course layout is pretty cool and has many forgiving holes and some challenging.
First Time at the Brooksville Mining Company
Overall great little layout built on a really cool and unique piece of land. Tight fairways, small greens, and fun and challenging sight lines on pretty much every hole. Have to work the ball both ways to really score. Not too long but it’s no cupcake. Quarry holes on the back side are worth admission. Greens rough in a couple of spots. Folks in the pro shop were wonderfully accommodating. Will be back again for more.
Good layout. A few fabulous holes.
Overall I thought it was a good course. Most of the greens need a lot of work. Pace of play was horrendous. Multiple 5+ groups and no enforcement of pace. Took 4hrs 20mins to play 18.
Green conditions
Some of the greens are in desperate need of repair. The grass in the rough needs to be cut shorter. All lost balls were lost in the rough.
Not in the best of shape.
The greens had a fair amount of poana on them, some bare spots and a couple in pretty bad shape. The rough was high and needed to be cut. I have played this course several times in the past when the course was in much better shape. The recent hurricanes may have played a role in the current conditions.
In need of TLC
I’ve played this course several times in the last three years. The course conditions are about as bad as I’ve ever seen them. I’m hoping it’s just the impact of the hurricanes and not a larger problem. We spend six months a year here. I’ll wait til next year and see if they recover.
Will return
Front 9 is a standard Florida course with some elevation. Back 9 is amazing and feels like a northern course. Photos and videos don’t do it justice. Will be returning with my friends soon.
The price is well worth the tee times.
Going downhill fast
On arrival, was told bathrooms out of order due to plumbing issue...they had time to print notices everywhere, but not call a plumber. Course was lumpy on the fairways, weeks on the greens, crappy Sandra. It's is in need of money spending on it and some TLC. Not worth $40
Great Place to Play
Brooksville CC is a great place to enjoy a round of golf. You won’t be disappointed.
A very enjoyable day
Always have a good time at Brooksville CC . It’s a great place to play.
Tmc 2024
Played Brooksville country club last year, it was in very good shape. This year with the hurricane that went through there, it was in bad shape in many areas. They had flooding and many trees down that caused lots of problems. But I'm sure it will get back to where it was.
Good course
Torn between 3-4 starts so I gave the better rating. Course condition: Couple tee boxes were weak. Not a big deal except on par 3s. And that’s where they were. Greens were all in great shape except 18. Yes it’s back open after being flooded. The rest of the greens were good and fairly quick actually. Rolled nice. The rough was ridiculous. There’s no reason for it to be this deep. If you missed the fairway it was about a 20% chance of finding your ball. It was offset by the fact I found just as many balls of people who also lost them. By deep rough, I mean grass that’s 8-10” long.
Staff- guys in clubhouse were great. One came out on the course, I’m guessing for ranger duties? Never saw them again. He stopped by and saw a cooler in the cart and gave us some flack. We only had water because hardly any courses have water anymore. Offers to show him. He just rolled his eyes and took off. They do offer cups and ice at the clubhouse. But it’s not going to last 9 holes. So some leniency I think is in order with water. I get keeping other drinks in check.
Layout- It’s all about the quarry holes for most people. 4 holes are part of it but only 3 does it really come into play. One par 3 is not a big deal. I feel the green complexes here are severely underrated. It’s my fav thing about the course. Nice bunkering although they need some love. Undulations make them fun and challenging to putt. And you have some that are nicely elevated, even besides the quarry holes.
It’s definitely worth putting on your normal rotation. Especially if they start cutting the rough. It’s really uncalled for.
I would LOVE to play that fast! usually 5 hours or more time to slow down dude
Lets see, that's less than 15 minutes a hole. 4 people playing 15 minutes a hole is fantastic. Maybe turn down the speed meter and enjoy.
