About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Excellent shape
This was my first time playing this course. I was very impressed with the condition it was in. Greens ran perfectly and the fairways looked like fairways. There was only one hole in the back nine that was roped off due to too much water collecting in front of green. Other than that, the course was awesome. Can't wait to go back.....

Don’t be in a hurry
Played this course several years ago…was not impressed with conditions/pace…thought I would try again. No effort made to speed up play (no Marshal on course…) Headed off of 6 green and found a walking foursome of high schoolers ahead of us….they were not anywhere around us the previous 6 holes! Course very busy but won’t be visiting this course again….too slow.

Sunday drivers
My playing partner and I decided at the ninth hole to end our frustration with the pace of play on Sunday, May 7. It took nearly 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete nine holes, which is unconscionable even for a municipal course on a weekend. There was no Marshall in sight to encourage the two groups in front of us to keep up with golfers ahead of them. We heard from the “hold the green“ vendor that several early groups had gaps of 1 to 2 1/2 holes spacing between them, which slowed down the entire day
Waiting 20 to 30 minutes between swings is unacceptable. It will be a long time before I return to this course even though I enjoy the layout and the greens were in excellent condition.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us with some constructive feedback to help us get better. There is a much higher sense of urgency to fix the pace of play issues we see from time to time and we hope the next time you choose to play Meadowlark we can show you a much better experience.

BUDGET FRIENDLY/BUT ALSO IN BAD SHAPE
Not in good shape at all; Short course and the tee boxes are right by the greens. So, be on the lookout for errant tee shots. The marshal sits at hole 15 and moves the cart rope for you.
Doesn't make sense, and the dude was rude about it.
I'd rather play Riverview, and that place is a squirrel field. That should say enough.
