Meadowlark Golf Course
About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Good value
When you comsider the courses in LA and Orange County, I would say this is a good course. You can't just hit the ball, you have to think about each shot with water, dog legs, up hill and down hill shots, its good practice and fun for the new or seasoned golfer. I will play again.
Overcharged
Booked on my phone one hour prior and when I got there, I was charged $48.00 instead of $29.00. Also, the greens were punched recently and we were putting across sand. Overcharged, punched greens and being paired up with a dad and his 10-year old who played for the first time. Not my idea of a good morning.
Windy but manageable
Had a good time playing, however it was not disclosed on the Golf Now site that the course was
sanding the greens. Received a discount for that , but still should know up-front.
Fun day
Fun day even though long day (5 hr +) but weekend during spring break. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely play again here.
Three amigos day on the links
Course was in good shape even with sanded greens. Pace of play good. Layout was interesting.
Great Local Course
The course was in Good shape for this time of year.
We played quickly and had a great time.
Overall the course is very fair and easy to see from the tee box. A couple of holes are a little tricky with some water or small crowned greens. Just enough to keep you interested.
Plenty of room to hit & have a fun round.
good value
great weather, friendly people , good value , close to home .
good course
Challenging yet playable I'll be back to shoot a better score
Great course for the money
Course was in great condition, staff was very nice.
A little gem
I am from Victoria B. C. My spouse and I come to Ca. At this time to golf and visit our daughter. Huntington Beach is a new spot to stay for us. Meadowlark Golf Course has been a huge bonus to our holiday. Reasonably priced for daily games. The course layout provides a good challenge. The ambiance and friendly people keep us coming back. What a gift this little gem of a course has been.Watch out for the water on 7&8!
Meadowlark GC
Slow front nine (6hr pace) but back nine was nice.
Slow. VERY Slow.
Having 5 somes is a bad idea. Having 5 somes at this kind of course where holes are all next to each other with a few back to back short holes, and you have the makings of a 5+ hour round. This is my new "hometown" course, as I just moved into the area, and while the value is good, it just becomes an ENTIRE afternoon of half golf and half looking at your phone due to the ridiculous wait times. Got a $19 to ride hot deal for 2:20p, got out at 235p, but after an hour only finished 3 holes. It took several parties ahead of us ditching the course for us to be the last group to finish at roughly 7:45p. Easily walkable and will probably do so next time.
Slow play
Slow play! 3 hours for 9 holes is ridiculous ! No marshals to control pace. Fivesomes & following a tournament was too much!
go play
Nice course to play a twilight round while riding. The course is straight. If you hit long drives u can definitely drive some of the par 4s. Good course to practice your golf game. Just read those greens and have fun.
Fun course if you don't want to spend the money & have all day.
Fun course to brush up your short game. Just make sure if your playing during the weekend you have all day to play! Speed of play is painfully slow, but what do you expect when you pay in the low end. You get what you pay for my friends.
All in all fun course & has some challenging holes here & there. Definately worth playing if its in your price range.
Fun
Fun course. Has the tendency to over book... thus the 5 hour round... the course is short, it should never take so long. Challenging greens on back side.
a very scary experience
I have never heard so many "fore" calls and balls hit into other fairways, out of control balls where you had to duck and cover on most holes. So many weekend "hackers" that could not control their balls and obviously did not know rules of etiquette either. They would hit balls in front of people trying to tee off with no regard to that fact that they were on the wrong fairway. So dangerous. The lady in front of us was hit in the shoulder and had to quit. My husband was almost hit twice! I never saw a Marshall on the course to help with these problems either. I also noticed a 5 some which should never happen on a very busy Sunday, and they were walking!!!! The cart girl was out of most beverages and seemed to never go back and stock up! I would not lay this course again on a weekend again!!
Meadowlark and the ducks
Great day on the course. Pace was quick and lots of ducks having fun. Very enjoyable day and great place to play in HB.
The lark
At barely 6,000 yards the larks teeth will show. Some elevation changes throughout the course make the tricky greens a challenge. Can be slow in the afternoons because of 5somes, but a great value by the coast.
