Pine Barrens at World Woods Golf Club

As many accolades as this course got previously, the reviews lately are accurate. The greens are struggling. Infrastructure is dated. The layout is fantastic, which makes the putting surfaces so much more disappointing. The rest of the course is still quite well maintained. Patchy grass over black algae/disease on the greens and far more damp than they should be given the season, allowing the disease to thrive. It may not be as simple as a bake out, but there's nothing being done to improve the greens other than a few spots with old holes used to plug some repairs. Depressing, but I had to see if the reviews were true for myself. I probably would have been better off not seeing how poor the conditions are, and just how great of a design it is. I'd deal with broken cart paths for good putting surfaces.

The layout and design of this course is truly special in the state of Florida and a joy to navigate, even in spite of its difficulty for a higher handicapper like myself. That said, the cart paths are in serious need of redoing and some trees have clearly overgrown their intended design, so it could overall use a little upkeep. Greens were also a bit patchy. Pace of play was a bit slow, 4 1/2 hours to finish as a twosome. Overall though, I still would greatly recommend this beautiful track, and also as the slightly more interesting of the two over Rolling Oaks. Sand was in great shape, which is especially impressive with how much of it this track boasts.

The clubhouse may not be the Taj Mahal or the oaths the smoothest but the courses are well kept and beautiful to play!

Played a 5 and a half hour round. Front nine went smooth, back nine was bumper to bumper. Finished just before sundown. A lot of the greens were had bare spots, and they could have done better with pin placements to avoid them. Fairways were beautiful and the rough not too bad. Would play again, but have long drive.

Arrived and was told cart path only due to overseeding !! Nothing on website to indicate that ! Fairways were like hitting out the rough ! Traps were terrible no maintenance done in awhile . Rakes were unavailable on most holes Greens were in terrible condition! Have played this course numerous times over a 20 year period & sorry to say it will be my last time . Rumor has it that it’s to sold & hopefully the new owner will return the course adequate condition. Talked to person in pro & was treated like they don’t care at all ! My advice would be to play elsewhere until under new management!!!

The dining room was old and the outside seating was horrible. Please improve that area.

The bathroom is pretty bad too.

FYI, I will pack my lunch and eat in the cart next time.

Golf valet was very nice and the pro shop attendees were great.

The layout is excellent, a few greens were a bit spotty with bare spots. My only complaint is the restrooms were disgusting.

Course was in alright shape. The greens were quick but had patches of dirt showing, more prevalent on the back 9 more so than the front 9.

First off I have played this course many times in the past few years and have noticed it going down hill. The layout of Pine Barrens is great. The green quality has slipped a bit with some bare spots but still rolling fine. The fairways are fine, but the big glaring issue is the amenities. The comfort stations are disgusting the clubhouse is poor. You notice the worn out facility as soon as you turn into the entrance. It has been sad to witness this extraordinary course start to circle the bowel.

Greens are in rough shape. Not sure what happened but big portions of a lot of the greens are pretty far gone. Sad to see as both courses were once two of the top tracks in the state.

The Pune Barrens course has a very different layout then most Florida courses with lots of waste areas and rolling hills.
