At Red Rock Country Club, Arnold Palmer has created an escape from desert golf with a lush green course that forces golfers to think over their shots. As you're thinking, a waterfall could be crashing in the background. There are actually two Palmer courses here, but only The Arroyo is open for public play.

It measures in at 6,883 yards from the back tees and uses dramatic bunkering to set off its holes. The par 4s are particularly inventive, especially the 432-yard 4th. The par-3 seventh gives you great views of The Strip in the distance. The greens consistently run 10-11 on the Stimpmeter and the fairways are designed to funnel shots that are not overly wild back into decent lies.

"The Arroyo Course is what it is -- a playable course with stunning scenery and a smattering of decent golf holes," former TravelGolf.com writer Shane Sharp said. "It won't provide as memorable a round as Sin City's big-name resort courses, but the price is relative. If you're looking for a course to include in your annual Vegas rotation, Arroyo would be a nice addition, considering its conditioning and scenery."

Arroyo at Red Rock

Course was in ok condition. Greens were bumpy and not similar to the practice green. I was a single and course required me to ride with someone I didn't know. They said they had limited carts. They also rearranged the holes to start on #7. They said it was a pace of play measure. Didn't see any advantage since it was still a 4.5 hour round. Additionally, I'm not happy about the non-resident rates vs the locals rate. At the end of the day I would still play this course again but it will no longer be one of my top 5 in Vegas.

Course was.in good shape, tee boxes were not. The greens were firm and fast, most sand traps were thin and hard in bottoms and playable on the sides and face. Would play again.

Overall Nice Place To Play

Fairways in great shape. Greens and tee boxes need some work, although greens putt true and have great pace. Biggest downside is pace of play is slow.

6+ hour round..

Giving some grace because of a frost delay which pushed back our start time an hour. When I called the proshop and asked what the avg round time was even with the delay I was told “it’s moving pretty quick”, and that it “should be” 4 hours and 15 mins. Well, I I hate to be that guy. We had to sit out there for 6 1/2 hours playing golf. He said they would send somebody out and then the Ranger came by and said there’s really nothing they can do. The culprit there was two or three holes in between them and a group in front of them and they still could not get up the pace. It made for a miserable day. Thankfully, I was with some buddies for a bachelor party and we enjoyed each other‘s company and had a great time amongst ourselves, but we were only able to play 12 holes and that took four hours and 20 minutes and we had to leave for our dinner reservation. When we got into the pro shop afterwards, there was basically a bunch of shoulder, shrugging and “there’s nothing we can do “attitudes. We would not play here again based on that. The greens were pretty quick though, so that was nice.

Play it again

The staff was exceptional. But signage is horrible. It doesn't help that this part of Las Vegas seems to hid their street signs. It was a hard place to find.

But find it I did. And well worth it. Good elevation changes, though nothing dramatic.

Fairways in good shape. Greens mostly good. Rolled true.

Good Time

Course was great, staff was helpful. Only complaint was pace was kinda slow, but not enough to ruin a fun vacation round. Much better value than most other courses in the Vegas area.

Overpriced for non resident

Plain and simple the course just isn’t that nice. Granted it has plenty of scenic backdrops w the red rocks assuming you don’t mind looking over the top of the house lined fairways but even for late February the tee boxes and greens were in unacceptably rough shape. The driving range is tired at best. Plenty of better options around for $200+. I hope the course on the private side of property is in nicer shape. The layout is decent enough.

Whoa - Whoa

Whoa - Whoa, that is what you will hear if you get anywhere near the shared private club area.

This course has two18’s, one private and one public. If you get near the private area someone will make sure you know, you are not allowed.

The course is OK, greens are very hard. Your ball will not stick, even if a wedge is used at approach (and I have a high shot).

There is nothing wrong with the course, it’s just basic and over priced for what you are getting.

Then when done golfing, you see a nice club that would be great for food and drinks, but it says, Private - Members Only. Would not be so bad if the public side had a nice spot for food and drinks but the bar was already closed at 4:30 pm.

Will not play here again, unless prices are reduced.

Great value for a great course.

This course makes you feel like you're a member of the club. 8 out of 10 course. Greens and traps are the only setback at this time.
