Great course but very slow
Great course nice layout all staff I met were great only problem was pace of play very slow
Great day in desert
Nice track in great shape just off of overseeding. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Front nine in particular has some beautiful holes and views around Mesquite area. Will be back.
Disappointed
Wish we knew they just did course Maintenance… Greens were very bumpy and slow…. Fairways were nonexistent! Only seen the cart girl once … it was 105 degrees and no water on the course…Great layout … plays great when not user maintenance..should have warned us about conditions.
Windy and Hot
I love this course, just overwhelmed by weather yesterday.
The heat is on.
Love the opportunity to play 3 different tee boxes. I'm older and play the yellow. Greens could be better but the layout is great. With the heat, the course is practically empty and you can play real fast. It would be nice if they had water coolers on every other hole like Casablanca and Falcon Ridge. They do give you a cooler with ice and water.
Great course
Don't believe the negative reviewd they probably shot like poo. Tee to green was great. Fun layout with great staff
Baked Mounds of Mud
My wife wondered what the course designers were smoking when they decided to build a course on this ground.
It's narrow strips of grass making baked, shaved and sloped fairways and greens that do not stop the ball from rolling into the surrounding baked mounds of mud practically as hard as cart paths.
It didn't help that the winds were 25+ mph and the pace of play was 20 minutes per hole for the first four holes. This was not recreational golf even for two diehard golfers.
We left after four holes of standing around. We will play anywhere else next time.
It does have a better-than-average practice facility for the surrounding area. $10 for a large bucket of balls and a great range attendant named Buddy.
NO WATER
The course was a decent course to play. However there's no water on the course and we only saw the beverage Cart one time. I would not recommend playing this course if the temperatures are above 85° unless you have a 12 pack of water with you. Expensive in the morning for the value of the course. Little bit more relative in the afternoon at $50, but still very high considering the condition of greens and fairways.
Beautiful time of year
Course is in great shape, challenging and fun downward playing par 3s. Watch out for houses on some holes. My wife and I played the canyons two days in a row and the second time was more enjoyable because we knew the layout better.
Lacking service
Other than the guy in the pro shop the service needs work. We got our cart and there was no ice or waters in the cooler. It was 104 degrees!! No beverage service out on the course. You can fill water bottles at the fountain by the restrooms. Played the Canyons and the snack bar at the end of 9 is lame. No ice machine there and you only get ice if you by a 6 pack of beer. Tried getting a drink at the end of 18 and stood at the bar and no one came over to help us so we just left.
If you do play this course and it’s hot I would suggest bringing your own ice and beverages.
Nice Course
Played the Canyons course on a Sunday around 11 am . Great layout ,pace of play was very good, about 4hrs. Greens rolled true , they were medium to fast. The staff were very nice and I think it was a great value at 45$ on Golf Now.
I enjoyed my round even though the wind was 20-30 mph. Greens were in good shape, fast and true. However they were hard and would not hold. Fairways and rough was in good shape and wide enough. Sand was crunchy.

No water, no beverage cart, no outside coolers heat stroke FREE
First impression- we arrived an hour early and saw what I assume are retired guys running carts, joking and smoking in the first few primo parking spots sitting on some carts. We stopped to ask if they were available for us and they said “no, he has to carry your bags” pointing and laughing at the oldest member of our group in the back seat. We took it good naturedly and drove to the back of the parking lot to the available spots. We went into the clubhouse to check in and buy range balls. We asked about carts and were told they have no idea, we had to ask the 60 year old frat boys out front. Walked outside, frat boys gone, no carts, no help. We finally figured out the “boys” were holding the parking spots and the carts for their buddies. By the time we got carts, loaded our clubs and found the driving range, I hit two balls before we were called to the first tee.
Once on the course we were told that the snack shack would close at 3:30. What weren’t told is the cart girls would quit at the same time. It’s going to be really hot soon, if you play there in the pm, you better buy a lot of water or sneak it on.
