Golfer Reviews
Great Value for a championship Course
Our discount rate and nice early start made for an excellent day at Oasis Canyons Course. The course was in good shape and much better than expected. Greens were a bit slow with the broad leaf desert grass, but that usually helps my putting. Go play this course!
Rich
After a docile start on holes 1 and 2, the course definitely catches your attention quickly. Loved the challenging par 5's teeing off from elevated tees to narrow ribbons of fairway between the rock out cropped canyons. Elevation changes, scenic canyon views and blind second shots make you pay attention. Fairways were fairly brown, likely because the course was closing the next day for over seeding. Pace was good, under 4 hours, and the greens were rolling very well. Great value.
Not even good enough for a cow pasture
Course in very poor condition. Apparently course was going to be closed in a few days to begin overseeding process. Fairways and greens hard, fast and burnt out. It would have been nice if Golf Now or course would have let me know when booking, let alone driving 40 miles to play
Conditions
The conditions were awful, and we had no idea prior to the round. I wish someone would have told us before making a tee time.
Classic desert golf beauty.
I have played this course about a dozen times now. It has beautiful scenery to go along with beautiful golf. It is not long (~5500 from whites). However there are 2 sets of tees further back (~6200 from blue) and even further from the black championship tees. You find yourself lost in the desert landscape as you golf up and down the canyons that this course takes advantage of. Arnold Palmer did what he does best...takes an unimaginable piece of land and turns it into a golf masterpiece.
Palmer Canyon Course
The course was a good layout with a lot of different levels around the course. They were jusyt preparing for the overssed so the course was dried out. Still played well. The conly complaint I had was there were two 5 some groups a head of us. We called the pro shop and they stated no 5 somes were allowed. They sent out a ranger but did not break them up.
Loved it
Course is manageable except for 1st hole if u don't know there is water on left. Great views. Can't beat the price on golfnow. Women red tees are forgivable. Honey broke 100 & 90, 1st time at same time! Most holes need "driver", so better be working. "Eat at the grill" has good food but service was slow. (Probably cause had a big group & only one waitress)
Fun Course in Great Condition
First time on this course, what fun. Challenging but fair. Wide open. Many uphill holes, but what gets hit uphill must also come downhill. A couple par 3's fit that bill. Fairways had good grass under the ball and the greens were medium speed running true. After playing Wolf Creek, this was a course to relax and enjoy, and we did. Would play the Canyons anytime.
Great Round
Course was in good shape and pace of play was great.
greens
Course was in nice shape. The greens were horrible. Not cut or rolled. Still all in all the course is very worth playing.
Best course in Mesquite Nv
Love this course. Fairways in excellent condition. Golf now price couldn't be beat
Great course.
Nice test of skills, short, long, uphill, downhill.
The Plamer had just about everything. Greens ran around 9/10. Views , pace of play, great price off season.
ausume views
enjoyed playing both the Palmer and Cayons courses
I would play again
My wife and i had a great time other then the weather was a bit hot, but what do you expect when you play in August. Found a good deal on golfnow.com for $25. Totally worth it. The only down side is NoGPS on carts
Worth the drive
This was the first time I played a course in Mesquite. It was about a 1.5 hour drive from LV, but definitely worth it. Great course, in great shape with fantastic views. Very challenging. Overall, a great experience.
Beautiful course!
Beautiful course, in great shape! Excellent value, we will return!
Surprise Fun Round at Oasis Canyons Course
Played the canyons course at the Oasis Golf Club for the first time, and had a very enjoyable time. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We played the less played Canyons, and had a great round. We played the blues which made it play a little more challenging, bringing plenty of bunkers and water into play. A very undulating desert style course with adequate landing areas. Played in July, so we expected it to be hot, but teed off at 7:40 and made it a round in 3 1/2 hours before it got too hot. The greens ran slow, probably because of the summer heat. Very nice facility and fun round, It was a great value purchased on Golfnow.
Spectacular
I have always enjoyed this course and the staff. You have got to love it when you walk in, and they greet you with your name. And you live 400 miles away.
