Nice day
I haven't played the Hills course in a while. We got a very good deal on it the 142.80 was for four of us. The course is in as good of shape as any in the area at this time of year. The greens are starting to come around the fairways are getting green. There was a group in front of us (not slow or fast) no one behind us. No wind sunny day 75 degrees nice, nice day just what your looking for.
Good Course...Horrible Carts
The Hills course was in good shape for this time of year. The course was setup well and challenging for a veteran golfer, but not unforgiving (lot's of "Member Bounces"). The issue I had was with the Carts. They are computer controlled. and are OVERLY cautious. They adjust speed too much, the screens are horrible. The GPS doesn't work correctly, and throws tons of warnings. It told me I needed to be back on the cart path and it slowed me to a crawl (literally), however, I was ON the cart path.. This needs to be resolved! The Greens had just been punched, but barely effected the putting rolls.
Windy condition Fast Greens
Did I say WInd oh yea. 3 put were common as the wind was blowing. I would love to play this in less wind.
Good layout
Course was a little brown recovering from winter, but the fairways and greens were in good shape. Fast greens.
The course was scoreable!
The pace of play was a draw back. There were several holes with two or three groups waiting around the tee box. Hole 18's fairway was severely sloped toward the water. I drove the ball right down the middle of the fairway and it ended up 2 feet from the water. Other than that, the course was set up to score well.
Tough condition
Made it tough conditions just because of cart path only. But great time , definitely will play again.
great day
With 60 degrees in February, it was a great day for a round.
I hav not played the Hills course a lot since it opened -- this was my fourth round -- but I am enjoying it more and more each time.
There's great variety on this course, with elevation changes, undulating fairways and greens, and more. From the Blue tees, there are par-4s as short as 282 yards and as long as 456.
I learn more about this course each time I play it and it keeps getting better. I'll look forward to coming back.
While the weather played a factor in the number of people on the course, we played a longer-than-necessary round as the course allowed groups of two, two and three ahead of us to join into two fivesomes.
Red Hawk Golf Resorts
This is a fine course, which can play very long from the back tees, but is relatively shorter from the senior tees.
I enjoy playing this course and recommend it all golfers.
Fun day!
Course was in good shape. Had a great day. In the sun pretty much all day on a somewhat chilly day so made it feel warm all day. Couple of funny things about the course, Not a down fall but funny. First thing make sure to write down your score if you want it. Luckily I saw it but didn’t write it down, as your driving back the gps/scorecard resets so lost my score. You see the club house once. If you hungry bring snacks or grab something from the cart girl. That’s the only time food is an option. Course is long somewhat challenging, definitely have to be straight. Some holes are forgiving some are not.
