When Hell's Point Golf Club opened in 1982, Golf Digest called it one of the best new courses and it was ranked as one of the 100 best-designed courses in the country. Renowned architect Rees Jones designed the course. He incorporated the many natural features provided by the golf course's location in the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. The fairways are edged with saltwater marshes and Jones included his signature sculpted bunkers along the greensides. Just a stone's throw from the ocean, the golf course is as scenic as it is challenging. The second hole is one of southeastern Virginia's toughest golf holes with out-of-bounds to the left, trees to the right, and a sloped fairway that leads to a well guarded, double-tiered green. This par 4 is the no. 1 handicap hole at When Hell's Point Golf Club.

The whole course was muddy... bring extra balls ... may get plugged
GREAT VALUE, GREATEXPERIENCE!
The staff is great! Prices were very reasonable. Course conditions were soggy, but was after a rain storm so take that into consideration. Highly recommend choosing this course and I will definitely return!
Course does not drain well, only play when it hasn’t rained in a week.
Fall is great for golf.
Hells point offers a unique and challenging course that will test your skills. It is full of surprises too.
Great Course
This course is great for the price. Greens are well maintained as well as the fairways. My only complaint would be the dampness, but that’s that whole Sandbridge Area. Would highly recommend and play again.
Poor drainage
Yesterday only the front nine was open due to flooding
What happened to Hells Point
I don’t know what happened to this course. Maybe new owners. Growing up in Lago May the neighborhood which the course is in , HP used to be in awesome shape. It now has gone to poop. Greens suck. It just is sad
Very challenging golf course
Like other said some green have bump, but fairway are considered good although some part have soft ground, but it' not bothered , I definitely coming back to this golf course
Fair ways, Tee boxes are all very good. but the Greens still are in need of some more work better than last time but still a ways to go.

Course in dire need of makeover on Greens, Fairways, Bunkers, Rough and Driving Range.
Only good thing was found alot of golf balls around the rough. Will not be back.

As usual, design of course is stellar with unique layout and holes. Unfortunately, greens took a hit and we putted in greens that were like average fairways. Still recommend as the course design is good.
