Old Hickory Golf Club

I have played this course a few times before and really enjoyed it. Sadly this time the condition of the course was poor. A course marshal offered us a comp pass which was appreciated and he explained that they had an invasion of crab grass which was on the way out>

I'd definitely return as the course is good, I will just wait until the condition is better

Love this course, but there should be warnings before you book a tee time describing the course is currently undergoing fairway reparations. I will be coming back but there has to be some sort of notice before booking.

Staff was great offered a Comp pass to come back in the spring. But the conditions of this course is the worst I’ve seen this year. Don’t golf there let them fix the fairways

This course used to be one of my favorites in the DC area, but has fallen way downhill. I’ve been twice in the past 3 weeks - there are weeds growing on the greens, bald spots throughout the course, very lumpy and oversoft fairways, and my first round took almost 5.5 hours! I hope management can get the course back in good shape, but until then I’ll have to look elsewhere.

I've played here a few times, but its been a few years since I last came back. I had fond memories of the layout and challenge of the course, so I was eager to get out and play a round.

The conditions of the course was very disappointing. The fairways, fringes by the green, bunkers, and rough were all in poor condition with patches of dead grass and weeds. The rough has lots of ground under repair with big patches of rock and hard dirt. I think the fairway and fringe around the green is suffering from some sort of weed infestation. Lastly, alot of the bunkers were overgrown with weeds and had large rocks. Making them unplayable unless you wanted to ruin your clubs. The greens were in fair condition.

The range facility is also very lacking as there is a large net 30 feet in front of the range. I wouldn't pay more than $50 here until the condition gets better. Staff and course layout were the only decent things about this golf course.

First, if you get golf cart #41 just go home. It barely ran and was an issue the whole rounded. We enjoyed the course layout, but the overall conditions were a little rough and has to do with the lack of rain. The major issue outside of the cart is with all the houses on the course. It is easy to push a ball into a home and the folks the enjoying their Saturday with friends on the deck were loud and didn't care when the golfers were either putting or on the tee. We'll be skipping this course in the future, but the staff was excellent

Played course many times. Last few years course was heading downhill with condition. However, this spring brought some very good improvements. Especially the fairways. Things have slipped a little. Please keep up the good work. A great track that deserves a hard effort.

Played many times. Love the layout. Earlier fairways were getting good attention.,but condition has slipped somewhat. Still good for price. Good staff.

I like this course: got some really interesting and fun holes. Greens and fairways were in good shape (far better than summer 2020). There are too many "Ground Under Repair" patches, But overall conditions are good. Staff was friendly and attentive, and while I didn't eat, they had some killer-smelling BBQ going outside the clubhouse.

BUT: the practice facility sucks. The range is a joke. (I know they can't do much about it, but but gotta be honest.) And they need new carts. From the burned, torn upholstery to the bald tires (we had a tire blow out on our cart on the 4th hole. They ran out a replacement and were very good about it, but the new cart balked going up hills.)

Otherwise, it's a great course.
