Lone Tree Golf Club

About
Located close to the San Tan Mountains, the course at the Lone Tree Golf Club offers not only a good game but also beautiful mountain views. This championship golf course was done in a traditional desert-style with rolling fairways and fast greens that are large and undulating. There are also several sand bunkers that protect both the fairways and the greens. Water hazards come into play on five holes and extensive mounding adds further challenge. The course features four sets of tee boxes to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. Lone Tree Golf Club boasts extensive practice facilities including a targeted grass range, a large putting green, and a short game area with a sand bunker.

Xmas Eve Birthday Golf
Excellent condition and weather. Course in great shape. Pace of play was great. Beverage girl quick and friendly. Bar service outstanding with delicious Bloody Mary’s. Highly recommend to play this hidden fun course.
Greens were fast
The greens were super fast, course was in great shape, however some holes still limited to cart path only. Pace of play was horrid.
Sales Engineer
Overall the course was in very almost perfect conditions with wide fairways and perfect greens. My group's overall assessment is positive but there were a few things for consideration before we come back.
1-In some instances the flag was not visible from the tee and since none of us had played there before we had no idea of where the hole was, we were hitting blind. A small picture of the hole layout in the score card would have helped us.
2- Another good opportunity for improvement are yard markers, since neither of us had distance locators yard markers would have made a huge difference.
3-The maintenance crew was watering the hole in front of us for almost the entire back 9 and a few holes in the front. In some cases we skipped the T shoot, other times we were hitting into water shooting from the sprinklers eliminating any chances of good ball roll. Watering during the day is not good practice; I really thought it was rude!
Great course
Course in great shape. Greens very fast so bring your A game.
Good course
This overall is a good course. Greens are in good shape, layout is decent with some fun and well laid out holes. I play here about 15 times a year. Starters and outside staff are excellent. I don’t care much for the pro shop staff they can be unfriendly and unprofessional. I thought at first it was a one off but it has happened way too much. This last time they were arguing with me about if I had enough time to hit some balls before I tee off. I had 20 minutes? I told him look just sale me the balls if I only hit a few it’s still worth it to me so they finally sold them to me. A couple weeks ago I had three of my group there and one of my buddies was running late but still made it. Pro shop told me a couple times that I would still have to pay for them if he didn’t show. I said yeah I get it. Thank you. If I have a group where one of my buddies is not very reliable I do not play lone tree because I don’t wanna pay two green fees. It’s just weird stuff like that and It happens way too often …my buddy said something about the pro shop staff on Monday and I just laughed.. I try to just ignore them for the most part and get out and play. The outside staff the starter and the restaurant they are all very nice.
Course in great shape
The course is currently in great shape. I played it about 2 months ago and it was in bad shape. The over seeding has taken now. Pace was great for a Sunday, 4 hour round. I’ll be back before summer.

Derek - Thank you for taking the time to review Lone Tree. Our pre-overseed conditions can be a little rough as we dry out the course. We are glad you came back as our overseed went well and the course is in top condition. We look forward to seeing you at your next round!
Outstanding Conditions and Value
An absolute great track!! I can’t believe I’ve never played here and I only live 7 miles away. Staff was absolutely as courteous as could be, and the conditions were spot on perfect the pace of play was great as well.

Thank you for your review of Lone Tree. We are thrilled you found us and look forward to seeing you in the near future!
Great day with family at Lone Tree
It was a fun day. Course is in good condition and the facilities and staff are way above average.

Thank you for coming out to Lone Tree. We are happy to hear you had a great time and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Great shape
Course was in great shape, really enjoyed the round

Thank you for coming out to play! We hope to see you soon.
Starter
I purchased a bag of range balls. I hit about half of the balls before I teed off. The remaining balls I was going to hit after the completion of my round. Before I could put the remaining balls in my cart , the starter came and took them and said I couldn’t do that. So I lost half of a bag of balls.

David - thank you for your feedback. We do have our starters keep a close eye on range bags as we do have a high rate of theft so our policy is that range ball and bags do not leave the range area. On your next visit, please let us know in the Golf Shop and we will be happy to make it right for you. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Fun Basic HOA community course
Wide fairways many with sloped sides that can kick the ball back to the middle make the course really welcoming off the tee. Greens are large and easy to hit, but so big and subtle breaks caught me with some three-putts when I thought had par locked up. Nothing fancy or tricky, and plenty of length 6500ish for me from the blues. I walked and that might not be the best for everyone becasue the HOA community layout has a good distance between holes.

Thank you for your review. We do like to think of Lone Tree as a player friendly course with different challenges available depending on the tees you play from. We appreciate you coming out to play and hope to see you again soon!
Pretty Good Course
A very friendly course with generous fairways. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Maybe a little pricey for the total experience but overall, I enjoyed it very much and would return.
Magnificent Desert Course
We discovered Lone Tree Golf Club on Golf Now after looking for a course in the Chandler area of greater Phoenix. We were able to book a late morning tee time and were completely blown away by the layout, condition, and management of pace of play. Our foursome played 18 holes in just over four hours with ZERO problems with the pace of play. We were able to play the forward tees which significantly shortened the length without messing with the layout of the course. The stark contrast from dessert to reasonable rough and magnificent fairways was worth every penny. We had a wonderful experience overall.
Challenging
Easy to find. Parking good can’t bring carts to car. Easy check in. Prices borderline affordable. Nice cart seats and cooler on cart. Water buckets for towels. BR and water on course. Tees good but par threes all ready pretty chewed. Fairways good. Bunkers good greens putt nice. Ball does not jump up to green when chipping played in 4 hrs. Getting busy
