About
Candler Hills Golf Club in Ocala was designed by Florida native Gordon G. Lewis. In a state that has no shortage of golf courses, Candler Hills manages to stand out. The layout offers plenty of length at 7,233 yards from the back tees. The 662-yard fourth hole is the longest par 5 in Florida. There are no water hazards on the golf course, but what it lacks in water it more than makes up for in sand. Strategically placed traps line the fairways and greens. The layout has some challenging holes but it's fair and playable for all skill levels. Candler Hills G.C. is also well known for its extensive practice facility, which has a range with target greens placed at different yardages and a short-game area with a practice bunker and undulating green.

Course in great shape
Loved our time here. All staff was great and course was in great condition. Nothing really negative to say here. Price point is a touch high at $100 a tee time (on the weekends) for a course in Ocala. I'd prefer to get a free bucket of balls with the tee time if we're paying that much.
Great course
Excellent conditions, fast greens. Wide fairways. Staff was very friendly and attentive.
In a retirement neighborhood
So I was traveling and got out early, jumped in GN and picked up a tee time at the closet course I could find.
Greens were decent, little slow, but they were a month recovering from being punched so really not bad.
Layout solid.
Conditions pretty good.
Played in about 3.45 which is a good pace following a stacked golf course.
Would recommend and play again.
Note: this track is in a retirement neighborhood similar to the villages. Just so you are not surprised like I was.
Good track
Nice course with wide fairways and 5 sets of tees so all abilities can find a yardage they can play and enjoy. Greens are on the slow side
Very fair course
First time played and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Very liberal fairways and nice, fast and very well kept greens. Sand traps were nice and fluffy and easily accessed. Overall a very nice experience.
Staff is fantastic, the course is in great shape, greens smooth and a good speed. The restaurant is really good and worth staying for dinner.
Really player friendly course
Great Course. Sets up nicely for average golfers. Very friendly staff. Greens were a bit slow, but I expect the next time we play they will be faster.

The course is one of favorites when we leave the bubble. Today the greens were very slow and the pace of play was slow due to a foursome which held us up..
