Candler Hills Golf Club

The golf course is a nice layout, in good condition. It has a decent amount of bunkers, but no water (just dry retention), so it’s generally very playable. The greens also have some contour, which makes for challenging putting. Overall, a very enjoyable round of golf.

Everything was awesome here. The staff was stand out! I forgot the cart guys name (maybe Bill) was amazing! He was hilarious, attentive, and extremely professional. I’ve never been treated so well on a course. Can’t wait to go back on my next vacation.

From check in to the starter and in between the whole staff was very professional

Staff were friendly.

Pace of play was excellent.

Course condition was OK. Some greens were patchy and in repair.

Fairways were OK. Rough was thick.

Used GolfNow, so the price was worth it.

Carts are not allowed in the parking lot. Have to use bag drop.

Flag sticks had no range-finder reflectors.

Sand traps had no rakes.

Great layout, always pristine and a must play if in the area.

Very nice condition, several Tee Boxes to choose from and some challenging greens.

Course was a little wet due to all the rain, but overall it was in great shape. Love the layout, open but challenging with the layout of the bunkers.

Candler Hills is always a top level course in Ocala. When my friends come to visit and play golf, Candler is always one of our top picks.

The deal through Golfnow is usually good. Recently though, Golfnow is slow to reduce the price as the t-time approaches. Today I played by myself. I can't figure in your thinking that not selling the T-time is more beneficial than reducing it to make some money 🤔

I am a super beginner golfer. Played with a friend who is a little more experienced. The entire staff were very kind and attentive explaining everything about the course. For me, as a newbie, it was a pretty difficult course with so many bunkers! There are no water hazards and the fairways are wide open. There are a couple of par 5s. The course was in excellent condition. Very interested in coming back after I've gotten some lessons and more play time under my belt.

We stayed and enjoyed an adult beverage and dinner at the club restaurant. Very good food.

I would recommend this course.

Except for the rain delay & news that the course will be closing for 5 months starting next May. The course is healing well since the week off. Should be in great shape in about 2 weeks.

Greens had been recently punched, but I knew that in advance. The pro shop called ahead of my time to alert me, as well...Appreicated! The course is usually in top notch condition, and will be back to that in a couple weeks.

Fairways and bunkers were pristine. However the grass on the tee box was super long. The greens were worst Ive ever played at Candler. They were incredibly slow which made for a frustrating round (this was exasperated by the pro shop telling us they were great conditions). First time I’ve played there where it was not worth the money. Hopefully they mow the greens soon but I will not be playing there for a while.
