The Bear Course is one of two courses at the Bear Creek Golf Complex; it is a championship-length course while the other, the Cub Course, is an executive length course. The Bear Course is an inland, links-style course with rolling fairways and well-manicured greens. Strategically placed bunkers situated throughout the course add some challenge to the course. A round of golf on this course can be played in less than four hours. The Bear Creek Golf Complex, in addition to the two courses, also offers a full grass driving range, two putting greens, and a short game area with a bunker.

Paid for regulation, sent to short corse.

We prepaid to play on regulation course. Checked in and were confirmed.

We were sent to Cub course(As first timers at this course, we were not aware it was short course). Starter at 1st tee couldn’t find our name. We still assumed it was regulation course. He sent us to 1st tee without checking further. We teed off, looked at scorecard, and then realized we were playing short course. By then we had missed our original tee time, and just played. Office acknowledged it was the course’s fault, but didn’t do anything for us, since they said it was pre paid. Golf Now did offer us some compensation.

Did not get to play due frost delay by 1 hour 15 minutes and would not finish before dark.

The course in my opinion was fine. The tees were good, fairways and greens very good. Only criticism was the rough was only dirt and you couldn't take carts in the dirt.

Had a 1 1/2 hour “frost delay”!!

I’ve never heard of a frost delay that lasted that long. It did not even freeze the night before. The low was 36-38 degrees. Our friends had to leave after nine holes, because they had another engagement. The golf was ok but a rather boring course.

Pace as slow as molasses

Shame on me. I should know better. A 12:50 T time on a Sat in mid-Feb is not conducive to a properly paced round of golf. But we were 10+ minutes late T’ing off and it got slower from then on. Course filled with hackers without etiquette (people hitting in to us), people from adjacent holes playing out of our fairway, people walking with their group but not playing, dogs on carts, nobody fixing ball marks…just a mess. We waited on every single T box. 5+ hour round. At one point, I thought we wouldn’t be able to finish.

From just a golf experience, the course was in decent shape. Although the greens were pretty slow compared to most courses in AZ this time of year. Fairways were in decent shape and T boxes were generally OK. But several par 3 boxes were pretty beat up and some of the 4 par boxes were not very level (a particular bug to me).

I should have known better but nothing was being done to speed up pace of play. I felt they over booked the course.

Super Friendly Staff

First, I like the course since it is very playable for an average player like me. It is in good shape, challenging, but not tricky; it has a good mix of holes. Best of all are the staff—cordial and accommodating. I always feel welcome. Reminds me of the course I used to play back in the Midwest.

SLOW

Most notable was greens were very slow. Balance of course was in pretty good condition. Can't take carts to parking lot which is annoying and had to wait on a cart to come off course to load up. Staff were friendly, don't think there was a beverage cart on course.
