Located in the West Valley, the championship-length course at the Coldwater Golf Club boasts several different challenges for an interesting round of golf. There are elevated tees as well as several dry washes. There are two lakes providing water hazards on the golf course as well. There are also dramatic elevation changes caused by the mountainous terrain. Aside from the challenging game, the course also offers beautiful mountain vistas. The course has not only one signature course but two. The first is the modest eighth hole. Although it is short at 100 yards, it features an elevated tee and a triple-tiered green. Coldwater Golf Club also finishes with a signature hole. The beginning tee shot plays to an open fairway over water with a dry wash to the left, while the approach shot is closed-in by another wash to the left and a lake to the right.

Good Solid Golf Course

Overall the course was in good shape. The greens had been punched recently (10 - 14 days), so there was a slight waffle effect. I would expect that to go away in another week. The course layout was good. The clubhouse had a limited meny, but the food was plentiful and good. A very good value for the money.

Summer golf

A fun layout. Just have to realize it’s summer in the desert. So, for the price it’s great.

Needs some work

Greens were punched about 3 weeks ago and don’t seem to be recovering very well. Tee boxes, at least the blues are chewed up. Reds and golds need to be flattened. Hard to find a flat stance. Fairways are in descent condition for AZ summer course. Hard to keep enough water on them in a dessert.. course overall is in descent shape and provides a fun round. They do need to keep an eye on pace. First group off was a foursome. Next three groups were 2s and 3s. The foursome needed to let other play through a little sooner…

West side gem

Seasonal pricing is some of the best around, gas carts aren’t governed to oblivion, and the course is just FUN. The signature hole is a par 3 with a water carry and a three tiered green that slopes back to front…..lots of drama for your weekly group. Frickin love it here. Even if you don’t play it’s a great 2-4hr hang

Terrible Experience

Went to the course with a friend and his son for Father’s Day on Sunday, June 18. We were both celebrating Father’s Day. Started off OK, purchased refreshments at the counter and checked in pretty seamlessly. Spent quite a few dollars and was hoping to have a great memorable experience. After completing nine holes and coming back to the clubhouse, we wanted to purchase more refreshments. We were greeted by the staff which was two girls and an older gentleman. When we asked for more refreshments so that we could take it with us for the back nine, the staff seem somewhat irritated. The time was about 4 o’clock maybe 4:30 PM One of the female staff members asked the older gentleman if we were going back out for the back nine, to which he replied, yes they are. After he said that the female employee scoffed and made a sound of disgust. Because now that we’re going to continue to play the back nine, it would force them stay later, and they clearly wanted to go home. However, again it was only 4:30 PM with plenty of daylight left and we had only completed nine holes at this point. I felt incredibly uncomfortable and out of place, and in the moment I laughed it off. I found it incredibly unprofessional the way that they were talking about us as guests at their establishment, and making us feel incredibly unwelcome. Later on, I was approached at the 14th hole by the same two female employees and they stated that we basically needed to call it quits on the 15th hole and that they were getting yelled at by upper management because , we were taking too long. So we didn’t even get to finish the full 18 hole we had paid for. I want some kind of refund or something to accommodate this and make it right. I frequent this location often and have given plenty of business over the last decade that I’ve been going here. Worst experience ever. To top it off being that it was Father’s Day, Just made it that much worse. The two female employees and the older gentleman that we’re working that day, owe us an apology for their incredibly rude and disrespectful behavior towards us as fathers on Father’s Day, but also owe us an apology as human beings. No one should’ve been treated the way we were or made to feel the way we felt.

Has Potential

I have played this several times it has a fun and challenging layout fairways had a lot of bald spots and greens were absolutely terrible. Every putt looked like our golf ball was going off-roading.

Need More Water Stands

Decent course and friendly staff. Little rough but playable.

Only counted 3 water stalls to fill up your bottles. Definitely need more than being in the desert and hot summer. A couple times it was a close call if we would see water again. Maybe even put water in the coolers for the golf carts so we don’t get heat exhaustion out there.

Seen better days

Greens were recently punched so not fair to assess their condition. Fairways were typical Arizona headed into summer.. The tee boxes need help, BAD. Very chewed up and in many places uneven or domed..

GolfNow Screwed Up

Unlike other courses I looked at to play that day that indicated “aerification alert” there was no warning. I arrived at the course to find the greens had been punched and sanded a few days prior and it was too late to change my reservation. I would not have played there had I known this. The course was offering discounts on green fees as a result but GolfNow did not. Shame on me for trusting GN on course conditions.

Bad shape

The greens had recently been aerated. I would have liked to have known that before hand so I could’ve played somewhere else. The tee boxes aren’t great. The fairways have dirt patches.
