Great course
Great challenging course to hone your game. If you don't have control of your shots take plenty of balls. I love the greens each one is a challenge.
Would have been nice to know.
When we checked in we were not told of a shotgun start outing that was scheduled ahead of us. When we found out there was no attempt to get us out ahead of the outing (we were at the course about 30min ahead). We were then told that the outing would go off the back nine; that proved wrong as they were going off 1st five holes on front side. Fortunately when we asked for a refund we received it without issue. It would have been important to have known about this outing beforehand as we would not have scheduled a tee-time at this course.
Good Condition
Fun & challenging course. A lot risk reward shots and GREAT value for a $26 Hot Deal.
This i s a target course
Great course if you can place your shots. You can hit a straight shot down the middle, but the course leans towards the valley. Even if you didn't slice or hook the ball would run towards the valley. Staff is extremely friendly. New owners are putting a lot of money into the course, which will pay off eventually. No immediate remedy. Course is effected by the drought. Greens are in great shape.
Perfect condition to get birdies!!!
I play twice a week all over SD and this is in the top 5 as far as condition and fun!!!
Open course
I've played a few times in San Diego and this was my first time playing here. I wanted a good price and my friend did not bring his clubs with him so he didn't want to pay more than the play rate like some other courses in SD. I was surprised to see how short the grass was over the course. The ball will just keep rolling and you may end up going out of bounds or into a bush.
a thinkers course
Lots of options here. Hit putter from 75 yds, knocked it stiff BTW. You can over power or fitness this course. Easy at times, difficult at times, but a great time was had. Don't have to be a great driver of the ball, which I'm not. Fun.
Dry but good layout
Fun layout and a good challenge from the back tees. Course is very dry and the ball rolls too much! Our round took nearly five hours on Sunday starting at 12:15. With no cart service, the course wasn't the only thing dry.
Way to many people on the course
Great course, they just put way too many people on the course. No starter on site the day we went. opening hole had 3 people on it and it never got any better. 6 hour round. ridiculous. Could be great, staff needs to step it up.
Semi links style
The fairwasy have lots of roll which allows very long drives and fairway shots. However the fairways have many slopes and care is needed to prevent rollout OB. Long drives down the middle can roll dangerously close to OB. the greens are good and reasonably fast probably around a 10. The bunkers are fair. They have cut down some of the brush off of the faiways and reduced some of the hazards. Good scores are available to average golfers as long as the ball is kept in play.
Very dry.
Expect hardpan like fairways due to lack of water to the fairways but expect longer drives since the ball will roll. Greens were in decent shape. Challenging course layout with great views.
I lost a new Taylormade towel between the 1st and 2nd hole which was seen but not picked by the group behind me and a marshal driving into work. Someone obviously pick it up and decided they it was Christmas early.
very good
Very good course...tough but fair. Built in hills. Can be windy. Greens=A-, Traps=A, Tees=A , Fairways=A- LONG COURE to walk with some long distances from greens to next tees.
Great course
Terrific practice facilities allowing you to warm up for the routine and the unique shots you may face during the round. The weather was very warm and little rain the month prior to playing. The course provided favorable roll down the fairway. The greens were firm but checked up nicely. I even backed up several approach shots. THIS IS A MUST PLAY COURSE IF IN SAN DIEGO!
Walters choice
We had an excellent round and enjoined every moment.
Very playable
This course was very playable but still had it's challenges. The pace of play was great and we finished in around 4 hours. Would definitely play it again.
Must play in San Diego
Great course with lots of elevation. Number 9 is a par 4 365 uphill all the way. A poorly placed tee shot could come back to you. A must play in the San Diego area.
improved
I've always loved the track, but the fairways were so hard, your club would just bounce of the deck. First time back since last years renovations (new ownership?) and was pleasantly surprised how nice the course is playing. Greens in great shape, cleaned up several holes on back 9 which really improves the flow. Great time and good bargain.
Watch out for the wind, and the roll
Sloping fairways with the wind can put you in the rough when you least expect it, so be careful with the drives.
Hard and fast
I love the course, it played fast and very firm, greens were quick but very readable. Had a great round. I'm a 11 handicap and played very well. I believe I shot a 83.. will COME BACK SOON.
Good layout and greens - fairways rough condition
This is a nice layout and worth playing except for the condition of the fairways. The greens were in good shape. I know there has been no rain, but there are so many big bare patches. I played on a day with some rain. Even without going in the sensitive areas, my pants had a lot of mud. It is nice to have GPS on the carts. I would like to play sometime other than the winter.
