This is a really fun course with some unique features
It hasn't rained in the area in months, so the fairway and greens were really dry and hard, which played to my advantage in some cases and against me in others. I'll definitely be back, it was a great time.
Nice course but can play slow.
I like playing this course but they tend to overbook it recently. The last two times I played we were delayed getting off and had considerable waiting throughout the round.
The course is moderate in length & difficulty. You get plenty of run in the fairways but sometimes that works against you. Pay particular attention to the notes on the scorecard as they will help if you're not familiar with the course.
I do like this course and it has some nice views to the ocean from a few holes. Very nice setting overall and good practice facilities.
Salt Creek, Good Greens but course needs water!
Greens quite good and very fast. Fairways were obviously not getting nearly enough water. A bit surprising how dried out the course was and consequently the ball ran a mile....
Times are rough but....
stay in play
This is one of my favorite courses but I haven't played here for awhile. Not much has changed since last time. The biggest challenge is just staying in the fairway. The course runs so hard and fast that good teeshots can run out into trouble. Always aim for the high side of the fairway if there is any slope at all. Otherwise bring extra balls. The greens were very good but the traps are inconsistent and full of pebbles.
Great layout.
Excellent value
One of the more interesting golf courses. Challenging, but never unfair. Lots of fun to play!
The price was fair for the course.
The greens were in great shape. However the fairway were bare of grass. The layout is worth playing. Once the fairway grass comes back this will be an excellent course.
Great layout, very scenic.
Great value especially on a Sunday. Keep up the offers and they will come.
Salt Creek is in good condition these days
Salt Creek is in good condition these days........
TOO SLOW
The pace of play was much too slow. There were too many brown spots on the fairway. There were not players' assistants. The GPS did not work.
Seen better days but greens good
First time in four years here I was shocked at the dead hard pan fairways and Solid dirt traps. Greens surprisingly true. What the heck happened to this course? Literally in my group there maybe five shots off anything more than green painted dirt. You'd be better off hitting to rough deliberately Or just play mission trails during a hard drought and heat wave
Fast greens
The course was set up perfectly. The greens rolled true. The fairways were hard and fast too.
Links course,great views
Tough course but fair.Must play the ball left or right on fairways to keep your ball in the middle. Ball will roll long on the hard fairways.Greens great condition but not completely back. Many elevation changes and some blind shots.
This one of my favorite course in San Diego.
The roughs have been cleaned up making for a more pleasent environment. Fairway conditions have improved since change in ownership.
Greens rolled well and fairways are cut close in some areas.
Golf course was in good shape. Testing course with elevation changes and serpentine greens. Fun to play and well worth the GolfNow price.
Tricky links golf
Links style course through rolling desert hills. Many elevation changes with mostly sloping fairways. Wind is a factor on most days.
one of my favorites
the views remind me of the great resort courses in the foothills of Tucson and the course challenges your shot making on almost every hole, while the greens are tricky and fast... now if the foursome ahead would not marked every missed putt, each of them twice, it would have been a great day at golf.
Refreshing links course feel
Challenging links course in South San Diego. The greens were very fast- 2 putting from above the hole very difficult. Beautiful vistas of South San Diego and the Mexican mountains. Heavily sloped fairways demanded accurate drives. Even center cut drives would roll off the fairway. Salt Creek is unique in San Diego County.
Beautiful, Interesting Course
The views are gorgeous. The course layout is very interesting without being beyond the ability of the ordinary golfer.
good layout, but still need some work to make it top rated.
Definitely very challenging course, greens are very fast and in good condition. Your ball will rolls a lot most of time either to left or right. Some holes you have to aim more to right others to left, or else your ball will rolls out of sight. Sand bunkers need more sand. I think by couples of months, the fairway should be in very good shape.
