Victoria Hills Golf Club

Poor conditions throughout. I’ve heard this was a great golf course at one time. Used to lure potential buyers into the community. Once lots were sold, the developer pulled the plug on maintenance, then sold to a new owner who can’t/won’t maintain it. So it has gone downhill for 5 years straight. Needs $millions to revive. Would love to see a new buyer invest. I’m sure the community would support.

The greens are poorly maintained. The fairways were as much sand as grass. Some traps had no rakes. A great layout that needs a lot of TLC. The round is not worth what is being charged for its condition. A shame for sure, but the expectation drops when you check in at the restaurant bar. Hard to believe there is no pro shop.

We really love this course and the layout. Unfortunately, Florida has been rather dry and the fairways and greens were like concrete. It’s still a very challenging course. If you decide to play it the greens are super fast under current conditions!

Played this course pre-Covid and love the layout and challenge of the course. Beautiful surroundings, lots of sand, but hilly and fun to play. UNFORTUNATELY, apparently, they have failed to maintain the course like it was 3 years ago. Hardly any grass on the fairways...and the greens are extremely rough and need a great deal of work. The guys in my group that played today said "we dont need to come back here to play from Daytona, until they put the course back in resonable condition@!

Sad to see a lovely course fall into disrepair.

Tees, fairways, bunkers, greens, practice areas all on absolutely terrible shape. I get the feeling that the owner is using the course to launder money.

Could only play the back nine, as front nine closed for aeration work, which wasn't mentioned when booking.

Assured the back nine was the better nine. I would hate to see the front nine as the conditions from tee to fairway was shocking, as were the fairways & greens.

Left after playing the first nine, and will never be returning.

Poor conditions tee to green. Bare spots everywhere, greens are inconsistent and don’t roll well (hard to make putts), even when you find grass in the fairway it’s a tight lie on hard ground. A great layout if they ever get conditions better.

I have played this course for years up until about a year ago where it got so bad that is was frustrating and not worth it. I waited until March this year after taking the word of staff last year that it was being restored but on my last visit a month ago it was worse than before.

It used to be a premier place to play and a perfect golf challenge.

Since that time they have lost the clubhouse and the course is like a groomed pasture. Grassless tee boxes and patchy greens.

It is a great loss of quality a golf courses and yet they charge like it is an upper end Florida course.

If they actually maintain it like it was I would play 3 times a month on average. Beautiful layout.

I have played this course many times over the past 10 years, loved the layout, enjoyed the people, enjoyed the food but for the last couple years the condition has worsened so bad that my regular courses are Debary and Cypress Head which have maintained their greens and have wonderful fairways. I cannot figure why they would let a gem like this go down hill and at the height of the season it is the only place with tee times so I’m not only one that has left for green fairways.

Course is getting some much needed work and its showing. In time hope it’s as nice as it was before.

So sad to see this course go to the dogs. This used to be my favorite course. I booked the tee time wondering why it was so cheap. $24.99 + taxes etc. Turns out when we got there we were told that the back 9 was closed. We’d have to play the front 9 twice. Well needless to say it was clogged as people were replaying the front 9. So we had to squeeze in. Pace of play was horrible. Also the tee decks, fairways and greens were in terrible shape. Yet the regular green fee is as high as it’s ever been. Would currently not recommend this course to anyone!

Courses like these have to be shut down for good…! Terrible greens (aeration started) but even so the lack of maintenance of every aspect of course cannot be saved. Way too late & a complete renovation will be the only solution………..

Greens were decent but fairways were spotty at best. If I hit a drive down the middle I should not have to place the ball on patches of grass.

Had a great time will be back. Wish the clubhouse stayed open for after round drinks!!!!

The course is in really bad condition. I would not recommend it to anyone and I wouldn't play it for free. The worse any course I have played on.

My favorite course in the area with the best layout. Unfortunately, the course conditions border on unplayable. Hard to find grass in fairways and greens are brown, hard and crusty. Should not be charging full price to play until conditions improve. Golf is about integrity and course website and staff should be honest about playing conditions.

First time playing. Condition of course was fair due to months of no rain. A very fun course with a great layout. Look forward to playing next year when I return.

I don’t get why clubhouse is closed at 5:30, other courses are the same. All four of us were prepared to stop for after drinks….. but not an option…..Dumb in my opinion.
