Victoria Hills Golf Club located in Deland has jaw-dropping beauty. Golfers will appreciate Roland Garl's vigorous bunkering, which oscillates between the expansive and the intricate, depending on the hole. An array of pot bunkers, waste bunkers, native wetlands, water sprays, bunkers integrated within a natural setting, and elevation changes rarely seen on a Florida golf course await you. Victoria Hills could easily be called "The State of Florida's Garden of Golf,"- inland settings such as this are virtually unprecedented in this state. Yet while the splendor and natural beauty of the property are notable, this is not simply eye candy and lazy golf. Victoria Hills, as one player put it, "is a blast to play". In any evaluation, it's difficult to imagine how a golfer would not rate a round here as one of their most enjoyable in Florida.

Slight improvement
Greens are improving somewhat. Bunged sand more consistent. Areas around greens not good. Fairways not good
Granted, early in the season- greens, tee boxes and fairways are in rough shape.
Understand that there has been very little rain the past month, and early in the season. Hopefully, with some rain and the grass germinating- conditions will improve.

Meh...
All the other reviews here tell the story. Management will listen to the members complaints, but will do nothing to fix the problems. The GM sent an email to a large group of members with a long list of promises that have not been met. There is plenty of work that happens, but it does not deliver results. Its time for the owner to sell the course while he can still get a decent price for it. There are rumors of several groups interested in revitalizing the course. The members and residents would welcome it with open arms.

The course was not in good shape
Very little grass on fairways and greens were brown.

Lots of sand & a cool layout. Very fair par 3's. Green 's are burnt or something. Really fast because of these conditions. No true reads. But definitely worth what I paid.

Shameful
Have advice for the owner(s) sell now while you can get something reasonable. Course just keeps getting worse because of lack of maintenance. You obviously do not want to invest a dime in the course and it shows! Fairways are thin and shaved and greens are a mess!

Decent fairways but greens need water!
The fairways are in decent condition but the greens desperately need water. The speed and dryness on the greens nearly makes them impossible to putt (or read) for the amateur golfer.

Potential is there
Some holes are nice some are cow pastures. Expect bumps when putting due to weeds or just sand/dirt. I love this course and layout but it really sucks to crush a drive onto a patch of mud.

We have played this course a few times and always hope the next time will be better.
Great layout, interesting mix of holes, but generally in poor shape. Tee boxes greens and fairways with very little grass. Bunkers in reasonable shape.
Unfortunate because it was probably a spectacular course at one time.

Course degrading
I haven’t played in a month or so. Every time I play the course gets worse.

What happened to Victoria Hills
Used to be one of my favorite courses in the area. Like all the comments here, I can now see why it’s reputation has been dinged. Greens were hard as a rock impossible to chip on and get a decent feel for putting. Fairways may have well been on one of those sand cement pads at the driving range.
For the money it’s not worth it at all. Still charging like they maintain the course, but it’s clear whatever they are/aren’t doing isn’t working.

its day a great course
IN its day a great course. Apparently no body gives a s--t about the shape of the course. I suppose it would be extremely challenging if there was any grass. Too bad .......... it is a shame the course is so poorly maintained. I believe the range is the best part. I won't be back. :-((
