Victoria Hills Golf Club located in Deland has jaw-dropping beauty. Golfers will appreciate Roland Garl's vigorous bunkering, which oscillates between the expansive and the intricate, depending on the hole. An array of pot bunkers, waste bunkers, native wetlands, water sprays, bunkers integrated within a natural setting, and elevation changes rarely seen on a Florida golf course await you. Victoria Hills could easily be called "The State of Florida's Garden of Golf,"- inland settings such as this are virtually unprecedented in this state. Yet while the splendor and natural beauty of the property are notable, this is not simply eye candy and lazy golf. Victoria Hills, as one player put it, "is a blast to play". In any evaluation, it's difficult to imagine how a golfer would not rate a round here as one of their most enjoyable in Florida.

Very nice layout.
Bare fairways and greens.
The business of golf is better than amazing right now. All courses are full but, if you charge higher rates than the cheaper courses, you should offer a better product than them.

Troubled Course
Well I have read the reviews and agree with most of them! Unfortunately this formally great course is on the decline. Based on the response by the owner or manager they obviously do not know anything about running a course. Here is their response "We see you rated the course 3-stars and are interested in learning what we can do to improve before your next round" That is a problem if they do not know where the problems are! So very SAD! How about responding acknowledging the issues and what they are doing about it! Who the heck owns this place, are they remote and hands off?

Not worth your time or money
Course was in bad shape, Greens were awful, worst l have ever seen.

Terrible Condition
The course is in terrible shape. The fairways are dry and very sandy and there are lots of holes in the grass. The green brown and had almost no grass on them.
Same Old Story
I played here again, hoping to see new results, but it was more of the same. The grass is dormant now and putting on the greens is equivalent to putting on a gym floor. The owner seriously needs to consider being in the golf course business. he either does not have the money and/or the knowledge to bring this course to the condition it should be. Its time for him to cut his losses and sell the course to a group who will invest the money needed. Frankly with the layout, this should be a $100+/round if it was properly maintained. If the current owner and GM stay in place, there is no reason to think conditions will improve. Its a pity, especially for the homeowners who thought of living near a quality golf course.

Victoria Hills
Nice enough course, good layout but it’s very clear little to no maintenance is being done on the course. Many tee boxes are bare or sand. Bunkers are rough to say the least. Greens are pretty spotty

Course
The fairway are very dry, the green are average but the course lay out what a challenge it was great except the conditions of the course

Course it was a little hard almost hurt his ball he called the ground also the greens were spotty some very good some not so good with the weeds sneaking in

The course conditions are poor at best
Fairways are 80% dirt never a grassy lie. Greens had grass patches through out. Course layout is very challenging with all its deep fairway and green side bunkers. Looked like a great layout and challenge at one time. Will never return.
Neglected
As is every review regarding this course, “great layout but course is in terrible condition”. Don’t know whether management really cares anymore what patrons comments are. Nothing seems to change.
Soon Poana grass on the greens will be taken over by goose grass, fairways will be full of weeds and rough won’t be cut. I hope management took necessary steps in the winter to prepare for spring, but I’m not holding my breathe.
It’s a shame that with nearly 1,800 homes in the Victoria Hills complex there are so few members. The course and community should take pride in having this gem of a golf course, but no one does. What a terrible shame. Sad.

Where’s the grass
