The Eagles Golf Club - Forest

Wonderful experience. My son land I loved it.

We are coming back in two weeks.

Good parts- layout is good, fairways were decent for not over seeding, some tee boxes. Fairways not over seeded. Played for $25 in the afternoon. Not worth $60 for a morning tee time.

Not good. Fairways not over seeded. No one ever checks pace of play. Greens- some were hideously bad and slow.

Seems like most courses have been upgrading their courses except here. Has a very nice layout that hasn’t been kept up to standard of a quality course.

Two nice 18s. Reasonable fees, course in good condition. Golf staff very friendly. Bar staff complained about job related things most of the time we had a bite at bar after. Turkey club and reuben are very good!

Recently went and I understand it was New Year's Eve day, however waited until 20 minutes after our tee time to even get a cart. Tee boxes had grass, fairways had grass, greens had grass furrier than 80's shag carpet. If you like to swing your putter like your driver, play here, you will love it! I have played this course a lot since I've lived in Florida for 20 years, darn shame the forest greens are slower than the lakes.

Two major complaints, both fixable:

1. PLEASE consider giving our divot tools to players, whether they are residents and members, or guests.

the Greens are badly marked, and there's no excuse, this is a simple education and reminder thing that some divot repair is expected by all, even if you didn't land on the green! The worst example are the close shots into the par 3's, where the better golfers should know better and their marks are circling close to the hole!

2. Please consider making the greens a bit faster. Divot marks aside, the course is as good as I've ever seen it, but the greens weren't cut, and the ball rolled slow. I'd been warned about it from neighbors, but it's worth bringing to your attention.

Horrible green conditions and are very slow this course use to be fantastic now big disappointment.

White tee boxes in very bad shape. Greens were very slow, needed trimming. What happened to any and all ball washers?

Greens very slow and over dressed. No score card more interested in tip.

Had 8:22 tee time and I was called on my way to the course, telling me they had more people than expected show up for a tournament and they would not be able to honor my tee time because there would not be enough carts for us. Because it was last minute we were unable to find a tee time anywhere else

Booked the tee time 4 days in advance, only to show up and be told "they oversold a tournament" that day and now have no golf carts available so they cancelled our tee time. NO CALL, NO EMAIL, NOTHING. When we pointed to the 50 golf carts sitting over in the parking lot, we were told we wouldn't be back in time for the start so therefore they weren't an option, but we could "walk" if we wanted to play.

Several half-hearted apologies, a "voucher" for 50% off a foursome that (SHOCKING) can only be used M-F or after 2p on Saturday or Sunday, when basically no one wants to play. Didn't even offer to refund my Reservation Fee.

I'll find a way to use the voucher, but probably won't even go back again. Shame too, since the course looked beautiful.

The gps on cart did not work. The parking brake did not work. Pace of play, excellent.

The clerk at check in did not seem to be trained well. The washrooms between 7 & 8 were disgusting. No tp or paper to dry hands. The garbage was overflowing. In very dirty condition.

The only problem was that the cart GOS was not working. When I tried to change carts the attendant told me other carts were also not working. Very disappointing.

I played with my 3 Canadian friends and the were very impressed with the course and the price. Great courses and carts with gps. Couldn’t have gone any better. Thanks guys

More challenging than the lakes..overall nice greens..course and fairways

Both Forest and Lakes are my go to courses when I come to Tampa! They do a great job here and course is usually in very good condition. The pace of play can be slow at times and that’s my only beef. They really should have a starter there that puts doubles together. In fact all courses should tell people up front that is the policy It would help with pace of play
