Greens had been aerated and no notice of this pre-round. Bunkers under construction and also no notice of this.
Green condition fair due to failure of golfers to repair ball marks.
Generally an unsatisfactory experience

The greens need at least another week from time of this post to recover. Would have been nice to have warning that things were in rough shape.
Very fun challenging layout. Very scenic with plenty of views of the lake. I'd love to see it in good condition. It was anything but when I played it.

Needs to dry out
The course is a great layout but the amount of rain the last few weeks have taken it’s toll on the rough and sand traps. Soggy conditions.

One of the best Public Courses around
Stonewall Golf Club, created around Lake Manassas, offers challenging holes which require thoughtful examination in order to score well. Today’s greens were recently aerated and still held shots and rolled the ball well. Staff here are excellent, and the practice facilities are well above average. Love this course/

Aeration
Nice course, Very pretty views. Decent after some bad weather, except some of the traps were very hard. Biggest complaint is that there was no email, text or other announcement on the website that the back nine was being aerated and that we would have to play the front nine twice. Need to have some kind of notice so we make an informed decision whether to play there or somewhere else, and maybe offer some kind of discount for the inconvenience.

Great Views of Lake Manassas
Stonewall is a fun and beautiful course to play, but could be so much better. The views of Lake Manassas are fantastic, but some simple tree removal could make them unmatched.
Unlike it's world acclaimed neighbor, RTJ, Stonewall has holes right on the lake on the front and back 9. The par 3's are one of the best collection of par 3's I have played.
Some of the issues I have with the course is the fact that there was absolutely no mention of the fact they had just aerated on the website, from the person who checked us in at the pro shop or the starter. We didn't find out until the 1st green. I also feel that if they removed some of the trees on the holes that hug the lake, it would make it so much more scenic. Maybe they are environmentally protected.
Overall, I would come play Stonewall again, and feel it could get 5 stars if it's dry and not aerated.

Great course that I highly recommend
I booked on-line via Golfnow and was able to get a great rate for an early afternoon tee time. It was cart path only (definitely needed to be) but the course was in very good shape. Soft all the way from tee to green bit playable. I was paired up with three other guys and we finished in a little over 4 hours. Did not feel rushed or slowed down too much (we did catch up to a group after about 7 holes). Overall a great day of golf!

Great course
Course was wet and made the course much harder but overall a great course lay out. Great views of lake manassas. Staff was friendly and professional all around.

Low Maintenance
Traps were flooded cement hard and unranked. Rough was very long cut. The little fences the rope off areas were down and cast randomly on ground, Seemed like was out of season for this course and they gave up on summer.
We would also like to mention that we are aware that parts of the course may not yet be back to our standards, but we want to thank our grounds maintenance crew for getting the course open and in overall good playing conditions after more than 7” of rain over the past 5 days. We sincerely hope you will try us again soon. Thanks!

Challenging coarse
Great coarse!!! Just started playing golf again after 10 years and this is a challenging coarse. Played another coarse the week prior and this definitely was a better value and coarse for the money. Will be back soon!

Challenging, but rewards good shots
Excellent course with a very.good but challenging layout. Good shots are rewarded and bad shots are punished.
First time playing the course. It will help to see the course again as a few shots are a bit deceptive from the tee. Pay attention to the course overview and the lines off the tee. Not all holes require a driver and the rough is thick.
Greens rolled well, but not lightning fast. The green complexes are difficult with the roll off from edges and the amount of bunkers. However, the greens are very large to provide an ample landing area.
Course overall was in excellent condition. Highly recommend.

Great local course with a good pace
Very few public courses can compare the beauty of stonewall. Lots of water to admire and be challenged by whil offering excellent conditions a private course feel in the clubhouse.
