Rating 75.0

SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Too difficult for my wife

Distance control is essential to play this course. Beautiful setting. Very deep and inconsistent bunkers.

Challenging but Not Finished

This course has a lot of potential to be great but it has an unfinished feel to it. In its current state, I feel it is over priced. If you play the blue or gold tees, you are in for a very good test but with no clubhouse, a poor driving range and the lack of things you would expect at a top tier resort course, it isn’t quite ready for prime time.

Metrobc

We had great weather, but the course was in fair condition. Fairway turf was thin with patches of bare soil. Some areas of the fairway were saturated with excess water. The tee boxes were in fair condition. Some were not level and most were worn from play or lack of turf management. May divots or bare dirt. Greens were in good shape and rolled straight. Over all, I thought the course was over priced for the condition. I would not recommend this course at the current price.

We were disappointed with the general condition of the course. It was the worst of the courses played to date. I have highly recommended SilverRock in the past and I won’t be again until things improve. The course has a lot of potential.

Memorable!

Silverock is a challenging layout with at least seven or eight holes that stay long in the memory. The back 9 is fantastic and I say that despite there being two weak holes - a short par 3, number 13 I think and disappointingly number 18, a short par 4 that just doesn’t work lacking proper definition.

All in all a great day out and thoroughly recommended. Note to greenkeeoing crew - the condition of the tees is not up to the standard of the rest of the course.

Great Mountain Course!

Excellent course and fantastic scenery. The surrounding pause in construction make it a but visually less desirable but the course itself was outstanding.

Very Nice

Course was in great condition. Employees were very friendly and helpful. For me it was a fairly technical course. They are in a difficult situation with some big construction plans and an overall failed situation. But that has no affect on the quality of the people and course, range, location. If you’re looking for fancy clubhouses- nope.

Day at SilverRock

Beautiful course especially the back nine. The temporary club house/club store and construction was kind of an eye sore but the course played great. Driving range was a bonus.

Fun and challenging

Try to ignore all the incomplete structures that rob the beauty of the natural scenery.. temporary pro shop is a negative. Appears as if the construction is in limbo and been in a stall for a long time. But the course itself I would play again.should offer better prices though.
