About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Not satisfied
The course had a terrible green condition. There were too much dead grass on the green. And the marshal was pushing us even though we were on the pace where we finish the whole round in 4 hrs. Marshall was following us many times.

Tore Up
The condition of the course was horrible, especially the greens. I'm not sure if the greens had a disease or got damaged beyond repair on most holes, but they literally had strips of sod on them and damage all over them. The fairways were basically mud. We were forced to place our balls on any somewhat dry grass we could find before hitting the next shot. They are building SilverRock into an amazing resort, so there's a lot of construction going on. It should be incredible when it's done. My suggestion is to get the course condition where people actually want to play it and they'll be fine. The layout is actually really nice and the staff is friendly. Until the course is ready, I won't recommend it to my friends.

Ok conditions…
They had a rough seeding in May due to really cold weather, you can find a better course in the area for the money at its current condition. Extreme amount of mosquitoes and horse flies on the front 9. You couldn’t set up for a shot without a bug flying into your ear or 10 on your legs. Back 9 was completely different. We teed off at 7am and 7:10am. We didn’t get a chance to eat at the grill. PLENTY of construction going on. Some of the greens were in pretty rough conditions and the fairways were soggy. I’m sure they have to over flood them because the extreme heat soaks it up in minutes.
Besides that the employees told us that info about the seeding when we checked in and apologized ahead of time. Every employee (cart girl, gentleman cleaning the clubs at the end, starter, person checking in the pro shop) were absolutely amazing.

Silver rock
Probably would be better once all construction is done . Greens are absolutely garbage . I mean you might as well pick up once on. Marshall pushes you which is good and bad. He needs to relax a bit imo. Follows groups around like a hawk pointing at his watch. When your a single with 3 senor citizens and they are moving as well as you expect them to the marshall should relax a tad.
Anyways . The day was not good as the greens are virtually not playable .

Do Not Play-15 of 18 greens are borderline unplayable, fairways not good.
What an utter disappointment. This course is in such bad shape, they should be embarrassed to have golfers playing on it, let alone charging $75. That is outright taking advantage of people. Have more respect for your course and your patrons. We almost stopped at nine and requested our money back. I wish we had. The fairways were not in great shape and way over watered. I understand they need to water in this heat, but the need to lift , clean and place and sometimes plug? The greens were a joke. Almost every green has areas with no grass as well as large areas with patches of replacement grass. We visit the desert every year and usually play this course every time. After today, it’s officially out of the rotation.
I was in Desert for a week played Classic Club on sunday (now closed for summer) for $50, Desert Willow on Monday and Thursday for $66. And Shadow RIdge On Tuesday for $69, all early morning tee times. To pay $75 for this dog track is unbelievable, such a ripoff. The Staff was extremely friendly and the GM Randy is a good guy and though there is a grumpy older dude in the pro shop, the staff is one nice thing about this course. I also like the layout but the previously detail terrible condition of course overshadow the positives.

Silverrock
Unfortunately right now silver Rock is not in great condition. the fairways are thin and wet and the greens are patchy and not worth putting on. we paid $70 to play this course and although that may seem like a deal later on the same day we played the Greg Norman course for $50 which was in EXCELLENT condition, and cheaper.

Great course but not right now….
The condition of the greens was beyond bad. Burned out, bare, muddy, inconsistent, pick an adjective describing an embarrassing overall condition. Additionally, sections of fairway that were totally muddy, soggy or otherwise unplayable interspersed with dried out and dead sections was just a head-scratcher. I get the fact that there’s a lot of construction going on around the course but it’s no excuse for letting the course go like this. I really miss the old SilverRock and the mountain goats. Hopefully both will return.

Must Play in La Quinta!
This is an absolutely stunning course in great condition! The thing that put it over the top was the staff. Over and above with every interaction! I can’t wait to see it after the construction is done. Tough course! I was happy to be paired with some regulars who gave me much needed tips. 16th hole is just beautiful and then the 17th comes in and humbles you. Have wanted to play this course for a while and it did not disappoint! Fantastic round…

I love this course. It was in the worst condition I have ever seen. Very disappointing since this is one of my favorite courses. Once you get it back up to exceptable standards it's a must play.

Staff not very friendly
Booked two tee times for 6 people. One person wasnt able to make and the staff lost it, got attitude from the starting marshall because we only had five players and we were 3 mins late to the tee box, even tho i had paid for the first two tee times. Our fifth player had to skip the first hole because they said we were going to slow the hole day down. Not once did we anyone up, but we still had the Marshall approach us for playing with 5 people. Not because we had players waiting on us to finish but because another guest tried to play 5 players the week before and they were told no so they didnt think it was fair we had 5. You would think after paying over $600 to play they could be a little more accommodating, i would understand them being this way if we were hold players up or acting like idiots but we werent.
