About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Bad experience
This place is surrounded by construction sites, foreclosures. Waterstation at hole 4 and 10 was empty which is not really hospitable when we have 104F. In addition, there was no opportunity to buy anything to eat or cool drinks. My driver has to pay 20.— extra, for a such a place an absolutely cheek.
I wrote an e-mail to the office at Silver Rock - no answer!

Nice Layout, Improvements Needed
This is not a course for a high handicapper. You would get frustrated. It is however a very nice layout and challenging for a mid to low handicapper. Yes, it does have the back drop of La Quinta and its dramatic mountain-scape, which is a bonus. The staff is also great and very receptive to you as a golfer! As a weekly golfer that is a high single digit handicapper (and on vacation) I expected though more from the course. Fairways fair-to-average shape for late summer weather in the desert. Three of the greens were in really poor shape. I read the course has "some construction". I assumed the club house. No. There is significant construction going on throughout the course... new club house, new conference center, and lining the course layout are many new homes being constructed (including fences that line the course with blinds).
If I am paying in the $90's for a golf course, this is not what I would expect.

Fun course
It’s a fun course in transition. They are in process of making it a world class destination. Keeping that in mind,you can’t expect it to be perfect. It is definitely fun though!

Terrible on Course
I love silverrock and i love the course. Both times i’ve played this course it’s been an extreme backup on a lot of holes. Not sure it’s because of overselling team times if circumstance, but both times i’ve quit before finishing 18 holes because to have four carts lined up on a par 5 waiting is a bit too much for me. I woulld enjoy to play the course again once they manage to be able to get visitors to play in a reasonable amount of time. For my experience on saturday I would like to receive a full refund.
