About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Wait a but
Course was in tough shape. Punched greens, plugged fairways and rough, bare areas, temporary green were the issues. I'd wait a few weeks before playing out here.

Absolutely the worst cause ever!
The condition of this course was the worst I've ever had to play on fairway Greens. Really in bad shape. They need to do a lot of work on this course before it's playable to where it's supposed to be.

Needless to say, our goal is not to disappoint any of our customers. This time of the year, our golf course undergoes a “transition of grasses” as the cooler season grass (Rye) fades out and the warmer season grass (Bermuda) remerges. This is normal and happens every summer usually occurring mid-June through July and into August.
Within a few weeks, the golf course will have completely filled in but we understand that during this process, the course conditions may not be perfect and as a result, the green fees are adjusted accordingly. In addition, the golf course was aerified the last week of June and it does take a few days for the greens to recover from this process. Unfortunately, this is a mandatory maintenance process needed to help promote water and air movement through the soil profile. We do post all our aerification schedules on our website and any other scheduled maintenance including the ongoing construction of the Hotels currently in Development. We are very sorry this was not communicated to you.

Usually Great
I love this course and the staff is super. This time the greens were not good and other parts of the course were under repair. My fault for not checking the conditions as it was probably stated. I usually play here when I'm in the desert, about 3-5 times every year. It's a nice track

Course was in very bad shape. Greens aerated and sanded, fairways brown, sparse grass in areas and also aerated and sanded. Was not told of this before booking my round.

Nice track but affected by construction
Nice looking track with a fun course layout. We weren't aware that greens had recently all been punched and were very rough. Construction adjacent to holes isn't great but it's a development in progress. Hope to come back here when conditions are better.

Course is in poor condition
No disclosure given to me beforehand that course was in poor condition! Not just punched greens but also fairways were poor. Golfers should wait awhile before playing.

Great Course! Sadly they just punched the green but still had me pay full price. Other then that, the course layout was great! Very enjoyable. It gets quite slow during the day.

Not As Good As Expected
Really high expectations given history and reviews. Hot day and late morning time allowed us to go out early and play fast. Wide open at noon (but was 103 deg). Conditions only ok. Not the lush conditions expect of a high-end desert course. Greens were really not very good. The construction (everywhere) hurts the feel. No amenities currently. Temporary green on 16, which is the signature hole. Not a fan of 18th.

Under Construction for way too long now!
We have always played this course when we stay in the La Quinta area. At one time this was one of our favorite courses. The last time we had played was pre-covid and the course's pro shop was in a trailer and still is today! Hard to enjoy golfing when there are construction workers, temporary fencing and home construction surrounding the course. Hole's 16 & 18's greens were like putting on concrete....absolutely no grass! Met a couple the next day on another course and they agreed that Silver Rock was no longer worth the money.

Greens were just sanded and had a couple really slow groups in front of us but was a nice course.

Quirky holes
First time playing, was the most disappointing course of the five we played. Started on 10 which probably made the day more difficult as there are several quirky holes. 16 th green was the worst condition green I ever played. Enjoyed layout of holes 1 to 9. Played with a couple that left after 9 they were so disappointed with the course. Starter had a bit of an attitude and could have been friendlier, although he delivered a quality explanation of what to expect. Course was recommended by a friend who has played several times and it did not live up to his hype. Overall disappointing and construction didn’t help.

A great course which has potential to be better
The views are stunning. After reading the reviews SilverRock was exactly what I expected it to be. I will say this when the pace of play is good and the course is generally outstanding seeing pitch marks left unattended on the greens says more about an entitled client base than an otherwise well kept facility.

The Starter should be fired
I hesitated when my out-of-town guest wanted to play at this course as it has never been a good experience for me. I can look past the fact that the course has no official clubhouse and the driving range is a 10 minute maze to get to. However, I can’t overlook the unfriendliness of the starter. I showed up right on time, only to be yelled at by the starter stating that I was late and that I shouldn’t drive up the ramp to the putting practice area.. My tee time was 1:50 and by the time I drove from the makeshift clubhouse to the starting point, it was 1:52. The starter then held me up until 2:15 to play. The pace of play was slow. The greens were aerated without an announcement. The green on 16 is a clay pit. Not worth the money. Do yourself a favor and avoid this course.
