About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Great course
Silver Rock was a great course but not as difficult as you’d think when looking at the slope. Would definitely recommend this to friends.

Disappointed
have not played since the remodel of what I believe was the back nine several years ago with the canal.
Some Tees on the back nine had strange approaches and seemed to offer little choices as to approaches.

Silver Rock
Tons of construction around the course. The greens were very inconsistent. Great level of difficulty overall. Disappointed with the condition of some of the holes

Not great this year
We play this course one time every year in the summer and in the past it has always played well. Not this year. Tons of patchy fairways and the greens were hit or miss on whether they were bumpy or rolled true. Staff was great and lots of drinking water on the course, but the grass conditions were disappointing.
Thank you for playing SilverRock and your comments regarding your experience. We are very sorry you were disappointed with your round of golf and experience at the Rock. Needless to say, our goal is not to disappoint any of our customers. This time of the year, our golf course undergoes a “transition of grasses” as the cooler season grass (Rye) fades out and the warmer season grass (Bermuda) remerges. This is normal and happens every summer usually occurring mid-June through July and into August.
Within a few weeks, the golf course will have completely filled in but we understand that during this process, the course conditions may not be perfect and as a result, the green fees are adjusted accordingly. In addition, the golf course was aerified the last week of June and it does take a few days for the greens to recover from this process. Unfortunately, this is a mandatory maintenance process needed to help promote water and air movement through the soil profile. We do post all our aerification schedules on our website and any other scheduled maintenance including the ongoing construction of the Hotels currently in Development. We are very sorry this was not communicated to you.

Love the 'Rock
Always happy to get on SilverRock at a good price, and its one of the reasons we come to the desert in July. The course was in very good shape and the pace of play was quick, which are both appreciated when the temp is on a collision course for 110F plus. You can always get a great photo here, too, as the location has tons of desert charisma.
There is a lot going on right now at the course, though. The clubhouse is a trailer, crews are everywhere, and there are dozens of homes being built next to the course, all at the same time. It wasn't a problem for me, but if you don't like that type of activity, maybe hold off till next year.

SliverRock Review
Teeoff and Golfnow need to lower the golf rates for the courses in the Palm Springs area. Most are in poor condition due to extreme heat conditions. There are hardly anyone playing due to heat plus the high cost for the course. This course is in repair mode for the summer. Most greens had turf cut out around the greens. Fairways very spotty and barren. Not worth the $45 I paid. Prior to Covid, Golfnow rates where around $20-25 for such courses. The only reason I played it was my friend from Canada wanted to play it. Will not pay that price again and play.

We played the course in the afternoon, it was very hot. The course is going through some changes with a lot of construction on and around. In this kind of weather I don't expect perfection, it was very playable and we enjoyed being there

a little rough around the edges
course is in the worst shape I've ever seen it. lots of construction going on, fairways are dry, and the putting greens a little bumpy. In talking with someone who works there, September in to October should be about the time that the course takes shape once again. Still a fun track to play, just don't expect much at this time.

Still worth playing
The course is very playable with exception of a few summer maintenance issues. It’s exciting to see what’s on the horizon for this great track. We’ll be back this trip for another round.
