About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Slow play
I am very disappointed. I paid full price to tee off at 130pm and only made it through 12 holes before it becAme too dark. No Marshall on the course and the lay was very slow. I will not come back

This was a terrible experience
Firstly there is no posting online that there is major construction around the golf course. There should have been a discount applied as a result. Carts are path only so one must take at least 3 clubs with you and when the ball is not seen from the cart path it tends to slow the game. We encountered a horrible smell from the construction throughout play. Will never play this course again!!!

We are doing our best to inform all players upon booking their round of golf about construction on the perimeter of the golf course. Although the construction does not directly impact any of the golf holes, we are aware of the general noise/dust issues that may arise from the construction. For all online bookings, we do inform everyone booking of the ongoing construction occurring on the perimeter of the golf course. If you did not see it, it is part of all golf reservation confirmation emails that are sent out to the person booking the reservation. We also indicate upon booking about the cart restriction. For the first two weeks following reopening from overseed, we do restrict golf carts to cart paths to protect the newly planted cool season grass. You will find this is consistent with other high end resort courses in the valley. We are not aware of any “smell” issues related to construction and we haven’t heard that from anyone else. There was a brush fire in Indio the night before, it’s possible it could have originated from there? If you have any further information regarding this, please contact our General Manager, Randy Duncan, 760-777-8884 ext. 4. Nonetheless, we again are very sorry we did not meet your expectations.

This course has terrible amenities and amount of construction.
You would think by now they could build a suitable clubhouse to fit the course. The layout was OK. What was someonen thinking with a 100 yr par 3??! Riduculous. Would not play here again. For the same price I can golf Shadow Ridge which is 10X the course and aurroundings.

Currently, there is construction on the perimeter of the golf course of two luxury hotels (Montage and Pendry Hotels), a permanent clubhouse, conference center and branded residences. This $500+ million construction investment is very exciting and we expect to see the first hotel open early 2023 and the permanent clubhouse open next Fall 2022. SilverRock hosted the PGA Tour’s Amex Golf Tournament (formally Bob Hope Classic) from 2008-2011 and was a favorite with many of the PGA Tour Players. SilverRock is a Championship Style golf course measuring over 7,200 yards from the tips with 7 different tees to play from and golfers have the opportunity to play the set of tees that matches their skill level at the Rock. The 13th hole at SilverRock is 165 yards from the tips and just over 100 yards from the White Tees. The 13th hole is deceiving because it has a false front which actually make it very challenging especially if you playing from the up tees and you are hitting a short iron into it. It’s easy to spin the ball off the green or come up short. Ironically this was the only hole Bubba Watson bogeyed on his way to shooting the course record of 62!

Course in great shape due to overseeding
Overall course in great shape due to overseeding. Only issue with the course was the greens were really slow but rolled good.
Pace of play was great and marshals were on the course making sure everyone would keep up with the group in front of them which was good to see for once.

poor pace of play
poor place of play due to lack of marshals. one foursome was five holes behind. Even with an early afternoon tee time we couldn't finish our round because of the slow play and darkness. poor course management.

Good course, constructiin
Overall the course is very well maintained and run. On our particular day of play a 'cart path only' rule was in effect due to recent overseeding. This affected both the rate of play and the overall enjoyment of the round.
Additiinally the clubhouse is a temporary trailer while construction takes place - expected to go until 2024. While the course management clearly attempts to mitigate the inpact the constant machinery noise is nometheless annoying.
When the new clubhouse is built and the homes to be built around it complete, thiswill be a great course to play. Right now, though its a toufh but fair desert course that offers scenery and value but blemished by work 8n progress.

Very slow, construction everywhere
The round took more than 5 hours and we could not finish 18. No Marshall. Construction around many holes..

Beautiful La Quinta course
This is an absolutely beautiful deserts course. Played with a local and they said it was their favorite in the area. The only drawback right now is the construction going on to build up the surrounding areas; hotels, homes, etc. The course just reopened and was cart path only, and will be for the next couple weeks, makes play a bit tougher having to walk across the fairways, and they are on the larger side. Even with the drawbacks, it would play the course again and would recommend it.

The course is not ready for players.
Silver Rock is I the beginning of major changes. There are wholes that have construction that interfere with play.,
Very loud machinery doesn't help on tee-offs or drives when they are just on the other side of a tape barrier.
There are areas that are still in great shape and are a pleasure to play, but that is about half the course. Overpriced for the experience. I look forward to the day when everything is finished and the course is done..

Mainly good but…..
The course is well laid out and plenty challenging. Only recently re-opened after overseeing and given this the condition and greens were remarkably good. However, the cart path only rule rather spoiled the day since the fairways are wide and once on them there are no yardage markers at all.
Several times we walked 60 or 70 yards armed with an array of clubs but having reached the ball had no clue as to the yardage. Some more imaginative ideas rather than cart path only is called for and please put in some yardage markers.

Thank you for playing SilverRock! We appreciate your feedback and we’re sorry to hear of your disappointment. We reduce green fees this time of the year at 12:30 pm (twilight) because of limited daylight. Twilight as indicated upon booking doesn’t guarantee a full 18 holes due to the early sunset this time of the year. Our normal green fees were $145 and twilight rates are $95. We have multiple marshals working the golf course daily but yesterday was the last day golf carts were restricted to cart paths, so pace may have been slower than normal. On a typical day, we do our best to get all groups around the golf course in 4 hours and 20 minutes or less.
