About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

Great course, great staff.
Great course except for the fact that the greens were not in good shape.

Beautiful course
Played early in morning to avoid heat wave. Staff was friendly and helpful. Maintenance crew was out in force mowing fairways and aprons but never got in the way. Fun layout that is challenging

the course presents a lot of challenges with numerous sand traps. But the greens were in horrendous shape, with enormous fungus problems.

Regarding your comment about the fungus on the greens; there isn’t fungus on the greens, instead, what you are seeing is the natural transition from cool season grass back into the warm season Bermuda grass. As the temperatures reach into the 100’s, the cool season grass begin to fade away. This transition occurs every summer and by the middle of the summer, all the cool season grass will have transitioned as the Bermuda grass takes over. Then in the fall, we overseed the entire golf course with cool season grass and this is cycle of turf grass in the Coachella Valley. Again, thank you for playing SilverRock!

The greens...
Course is great. Awesome layout. Felt it was a bit tough but manageable. The greens were VERY diseased and many putts got bounced around tremendously which I felt even caused a few to miss. This course has great potential once they develop the area and get the greens back. For the advanced players, you’ll be very disappointed in the greens.

Good and bad
This is a public, soon to be resort course. The pace of play here can be awful, regardless of decent views around the course. Talking 5 hr rounds here.
Play now before the resort is established, cause SLOW PLAY will abound. SilverRock is a course for players of 15 handicap or less. It is a difficult public course. I’m a 9 and played combo tees. THE CLOWNS in front of us we’re playing 2-tees longer and they were rarely in the fairway or on the green in reg.

Disappointed with some holes
Call it sour grapes if you want, yes I didn't have a great day out there, but when you hit the fairway or green and the ball ends up in water something is not quite right. Hit the green on #10 and it bounced into the water. Hit the fairway on #12 and it rolled into water. Other holes hit the fairway and it rolled into waste bunkers. I generally skip courses where the fairways are sloped like some of these.
I played here years ago and am not a fan of the "new" back 9 layout. But the location and views are incredible.

Greens need to be fixed ASAP
greens have a fungal disease and they need to be fixed. Course has so much potential.

This time of the year when the daytime temps reach into the high 90’s and even 100’s, the cool season Rye Grass begins to die and fade away and the warm season grass (Bermuda) remerges from its winter dormancy. You may see a few greens on the golf course starting this process already. This transition will take several weeks to complete and by mid-summer the entire golf course will be fully transitioned. Then in the fall, the golf course will be reseeded again with cool season grass. This is the annual cycle of golf turf grass in the Coachella Valley. Nice course
Fairways were in great condition greens were terrible, I expected better for $110

Good day at SRR
I live in La Quinta so, I call SiverRock my home course. We. tee'd off at 7a and completed at 11a. Some of the greens have disease but it does'nt effect playability.
Other than my score, there's not a bad word to be said about the golf course. Everything was there.

Great course, horrible construction
Will not come back to this course until they have a clubhouse, food and the insane dirty construction ceases. We played with a local and they said the construction has been start and stop for 10 years. My car looked like it had been in a dust storm. It is a city municipal course -which poses money issues. The course was good shape, the course requires fairway hits.

Fix the greens!!
SilverRock is always an exceptional course except the greens are bleeping horrible.. worst I’ve ever seen. Rest of the course is in great shape. And the staff is always stop notch

Great Course
First time playing this course and probably become one of my favorites in the desert. It was in great condition. We were the first group out and finished in about 3 hours. The course has its challenges but still gives you an opportunity to get back in it. There’s a lot of construction going with the new clubhouse and resort being built but that didn’t bother any. Staff was awesome as well. Will be back soon.
