Burntisland Golf House Club in Fife, Scotland, is an 18-hole golf course designed by architect Willie Park Jun. It's best described as having a parkland nature, although some holes have a links-type turf to hit off. The course is just under 6,000 yards and has a diversity of terrain.

The fun starts with three par 3s in the first six holes, but birdie opportunities abound. There's only one par 4 over 400 yards, for instance, so good length off the tee and control of mid-irons can lead to that elusive below-par score. The two par 5s are also tamable: No. 2 has a tricky two-tier green that's narrow from front to back, but 12 is much less challenging for the low-handicap golfer.

Throughout the golf course, however, control is key. Out of bounds lies to the left of the first four holes and the 18th, and to the right of nine and 10. You face a pond to the right on five, and you have to maneuver past a quarry on 12. Beyond that, the course throws up its share of trees, gorse and rough all over.

When you finish the course, check out the clubhouse, which offers a bar/lounge/dining area. The bar's open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the summer.

Thoroughly recommended

This was my first visit and I will definitely return. There are some quirky holes and blind drives which made it tricky for a first time visitor but the course was in great condition and with such great views it was a thoroughly enjoyable round.

The staff were very friendly and the professional was very helpful and managed to get us to spend some money in his very well stocked pro shop.

Very good

Great course, couple blind second shots which if playing here again would make you try to carry the slops of the green rather than find the middle of the greens!

Views are great with lots of down hill holes which carry longer than expected with the breeze

Great test of golf

Upon arrival pro had great customer service skills explained course layout and was friendly and helpful .

Course is is great condition from stripey fairways to true greens had a chat with green keeper on the 3rd you can tell they care and are passionate what they do in keeping course tip top condition. Layout has a testing variety of holes which get you thinking on club selection and distances with the 17th a great par 3 short but challenging terrific views of the firth of forth to add to the pleasure. Pace of play was good considering stuck behind 3 ball never had the chance to sample clubhouse next time for sure! was packed which tells you the grub must be good 👍

Oasis with great views

I thouroughly enjoyed my visit to Burntisland Golf Course, it's a challenge in places, so if you value your course management here is the course to test your skills. A lovely drive through from Edinburgh on a sunny day. The pro and members are super helpful and friendly. Kudos to the green staff as it is in pristine condition for the time of year.

I would/will recomend to friends and fellow golfers and it's another course to add to my favourite list within the Fife region. All in all a great days golf.

Mr Jay Fraser.

Was a recommended course

Played here after playing Kinghorn and Aberdour and being recommended to play this.

Great deal on GolfNow and couldn't turn it down.

Arrived early for a bite and unluckily they don't serve hot food on a Sunday.....Luckily our host made us rolls and sausage when she didn't have to. Very much appreciated.

Course looked amazing, having played a few past 2 weeks and knowing its start of season, they have put a lot of effort into it. Very windy and had to be clever but greens were pure and you could trust your line. Views added to the course.

Locals were very polite and accommodating.

Will visit again.
