This course was very poor no difference between the rough and fairway, greens were very patchy and the tee boxes were a mud hole.
Greens let down a decent course
Played many times. I have a membership for the course. Played today though and the greens are absolutely dreadful. It wouldn’t lessen the course to have winter greens on. That’s how bad they are. Shame, because it’s a really decent 9 hole course apart from the greens.
Nice course for the money
The course itself could do with some improvements but for a nice simple 9 hole it’s good. I played after 3 weeks of no rain and the greens could have done with a lot more watering
golf
A course where you can see staff work hard to keep it tidy...in difficulty times
Some interesting holes
Variety
Good course for beginners
Played this course since I was a kid and it's improved a lot in the last few years. Greens are pretty level and its wide open course but it's ideal for a quick 9 holes after work in the evening.
The Rain Stopped, But?
Walking to the first tee I was lulled into a false sense of security and optimism. What with the sunshine and the trees providing shelter from the wind, what could be better than this? Turning left to approach the tee box I was now off path, the new studs in the golf shoes proved their worth but I nearly went on my bottom a few times before placing my ball on the tee.
Enough to get the ball (a new Calloway) clean away but it ended up plugged, to the point of me walking past it before looking backwards in disbelief at not being unable to find it. The shiny white head just above the blackness of the earth revealed itself to me. I should have realised there and then it was going to be a long day!
I managed a couple of Pars in an otherwise uninspiring round but my claim to fame, despite plugging regularly and being caught up in bramble bushes once, was that I never lost my ball.
The course is a good we tester at anytime but the underfoot conditions were really quite poor and increased the difficulty. But don’t let that put you off. It’s value for money now and on a good day, great value!
But get out there while you can, before the city fathers are compelled to sell off the course to land speculators.
Just Saying But that is not the only story!
Course condition
Although it was a bit wet and got worse so only played five holes
The fairways could do with having the leaves raked up as on a couple of occasions I had to move leaves about to get my ball
Weather bad
The weather was really bad only managed one hole but staff excellent and did a another booking with no charge
Golf course
Weather not good that day but course was still playable
Greens could do with a bit of an upgrade other than that all good
