Mount Vintage Golf Club - Chester Course

I've played this course several times and today was a huge disappointment. The staff is great , the carts are good, practice facility is great, fairways are nice, tee boxes so so but the greens are terrible. Not 1 green rolls like the other, most have multiple bare spots and most all of them have several different types of grass growing in them. This isn't due to too much rain or a lack there of. This is a lack of operation by the grounds people. I don't know if they are limited in their budget or just simply incompetent. For the price they charge to play here the shape of the tee boxes and greens should not be as jacked up as they are. The cost of playing this course should be at least half of what they currently charge until they can get the course back the way it should be. The staff that I interacted with was fantastic but the managment of this course should be ashamed of the way the course currently is. Due to this I don't think I will be back any time soon. There are much cheaper courses in the area that are in the same if not better shape than this place. And that is a crying shame because this place could be amazing if they took care of it like it should be taken care of. I've got some out of town friends coming to play golf in 2 weeks and this was going to be one of the courses we played. Not after today. Hopefully they can get their act together and get the greens under control. Until then I would not recommend this course to anyone unless the rates drop significantly to represent the current conditions.

This is a wonderful course to play. Greens are always nice and put true. Fairways in great shape. Whole course layout very well thought out also. Clubhouse very nice and food. Is good. Staff and cart people are friendly and courteous. Course will make you learn to think your way around it and learn to hit different types of shots.

Apparently Mdschex has been back to play within a week to complain about this golf course. He must be playing free or just doesn’t have the game to play this type of course. Most people that complain about conditions of a golf course lack talent. Mount Vintage Golf Club is one the finest Clubs in the area that is open to the public. So I wreckon if this individual don’t like it why do you keeping coming back? I’m sure they want miss you!!!

I usually love this course, but I paid over $80 to play this course last Sunday. The greens and tee pads had multiple areas that had little to no grass. I would not recommend playing out there until they either lower the rates or fix these problems.

Golfnow should have had a warning on line like they do when greens are punched. Total waste of money, it’s not a cheap green fee.

We played Mt Vintage for the first time on 7/2/2024. The course & grounds were beautifully maintained. The challenging course meandered thru well kept neighborhoods. We had a great time & despite being about an hour away, well most certainly be back!

The staff were friendly as usual. The greens were burnt from the recent heatwave and lack of any rain but still putted smooth. The fairways were good and had some browning as well.

Course was in great shape. had a great time, will return very soon!

All golf is good ,,, some is just better than others. Enjoyed the round paired with a couple golfers from the area. Lots of roll through the fairways and the doglegs provide little forgiveness if you miss the fairway left/right/long. The greens were very (overly) dry and in need of water. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape. Nice practice/warmup area.. Our golf cars were in good shape and they had on-board tech with GPS.

One gem of Mt. Vintage is their resident teaching pro. If you can match your availability take a lesson from Cara. She is a talented instructor and her method to provide you insight through video replay, prescribe drills to feel the improvement and follow up with lesson notes are why I confidently claim she is the best!

Tees and fairways in great shape. Greens are rolling very fast. Course goes though rolling hills and is well designed.

I recommend it.

Course was in excellent shape and well worth the money.
