The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

North Hampton
One of my favorite courses to play on. The course is a great layout and always in very good shape. I will definitely be back.
Great Course
First time on this course. I found it challenging but in a fun way due to the hills and water hazards combined. The GPS on the cart helped on the unfamiliar course. Unfortunately I was stuck behind a foursome of turtles who didn't get the hint to let me play through, otherwise a very enjoyable afternoon.
Very playable for both 7 & 18 handicap, tightens up a bit on the back
WIDE fairways & HUGE greens welcome you to the course. Back nine adds a little more challenge with uncertain fairway landing areas or "pick the right line" to carry the water from your tee.
My wife (18) and I (7) were first off on a very dewy morning and played in less than 3 hours. Greens were very true but, needless to say, the dew slowed them down. "Greens hit" here are a fine stat to count but you could still be 40 Yards from the hole! Count your putts instead!
She shot her handicap. I was 3 under mine with only 1 birdie. Will definitely play here again. Both for the course and the price value.
Very nice at twice the price
Typical of most Arnold Palmer designs I've played, the course is fair but can be punishing for off-line shots. Keep the ball in play and you're really in play. But get into trouble, and you're really in trouble. Overall, very enjoyable round in all respects.
Wish greens had not been aerified
Greens had just been aerified but still was a fun play.
great layout
great layout in good condition. well maintained. the staff were friendly and helpful
Wish It Was Closer to Jacksonville
One of my favorite courses in the area. Everything is always top notch from the course to the staff. Could play here everyday and not get tired of it due to challenging layout. GPS carts are a lifesaver. Only con to this place is the 45 minute drive from southeast Jacksonville (Beaches area)
Vacationing on Amelia Island
Great course. Good variety of long and short par 5s. Number 2 is a great par 5. Holes 16 and 18 are tough par 4 finishing holes Play this course if you are in the area
outstanding
First time playing went on as a single very impressed will definitely be back
A very enjoyable course - don't miss it
I really enjoyed my round from the black tees. Requiring every shot in the bag , the layout is demanding and beautiful.
Conditions are excellent. I can see why North Hampton is one of the top ten courses in Florida . I could play it every day and not run out of challenges and enjoyment .... Check it out if
You can as you will not be disappointed
Worth the drive to play
This is not your typical flat Fl course. Greens have multiple tiers. Make sure you stay below the hole to avoid tricky downhill putts. Terrain has alot of elevation changes.
Play the right tees for your handicap.Lot of water and marsh areas. Get the ball in the fairway. Don't need driver on many of the holes.
Would play again.
Great course, but slow play
This is a difficult course for most golfers, so pace of play can sometimes be an issue. This course used to be frequented mainly by very good golfers, but the course was changed a couple of years ago to make it easier. It's still difficult, but now gets play from a wide variety of golfers, and this has slowed down play at times. The course is in excellent shape, greens are fast, scenery it beautiful: it doesn't get much better than this. Just plan on a five-hour (or more) round, and if you beat this, you're ahead.
Always a great round
We booked an afternoon rate and for the price we received a great bargain. The course was in great shape. The greens had been Aeriated about 2-3 weeks prior but the rolled smooth. This course is always challenging and well worth the price.
THIS COURSE IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE
Just enjoy playing at Northampton, even when I do not have my A game.
The course even though recently aerated was still a great track to play on. The fairways are excellent green and professionally mowed. The staff is friendly
Great golf in NE Florida
First time playing North Hampton golf club. Service staff was excellent! Course was in great condition - challenging design. Gps in carts was a nice feature as well. Definitely will plan to play here again.
Challenging Course
The course was in very good condition. Putts rolled beautifully.
Well worht the $29
Great condition, challenging greens. Wide landing areas and reachable par 5's. I would highly recommend this course.
My new #1 course in Florida
Reminded me a lot of Pinehurst. The course, especially the back nine was flat out awesome. Lots of elevation changes and turns and in pristine condition.. I have played some top of the line private CC's but this was as good or better than any of them. What a great day of golf. We lucked out and had the front nine to ourselves but they put a bunch of foursomes ahead of us on the back so we had to go way around and play the last 3 first and then the first six. Didn't hurt that we got a great price from Golfnow.
Great course
This is really a very nice course. Nice views, good conditions and challenging because of the water.
