The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

North Hampton first round
This was my first time playing there. The previous reviews were pretty spot on. It was a great course, very challenging, with many blind shots and water on many holes. The greens were above average. The back nine was in better shape the the front, and the last five or six holes are spectacular.
My only disappointment was that I waited around for a good ten minutes at the grill on the turn and nobody came to serve me a beverage or food. There were three servers prepping their tables for the dinner shift and a couple sitting at the bar. The servers never acknowledged that I was there and nobody ever came over to the bar, so I grabbed some water and made the turn. Other than that it was a great experience.
North hampton
The course was in great shape and the staff was very friendly and helpful. This course is my favorite in the area.
Enjoyed it once again!
Even with the rain, had a great round of golf!! Had played at the course before and looked forward to playing again - was not disappointed!!!
Good shape
Greens were punched a few weeks back and was told that they were going tobe punched again mid May. Greens rolled well for the condition. I have played here many times and am confident it will be awesome after the necessary aerification season. Fairways and tees were great. Also a great winter course as they bury the greens in winter rye. local favorite course for me.
GREAT LAYOUT
This course has a unique layout.
Tons of undulation which makes the course a fun challenge for any skill level.
Very appealing to the eye as well. Hole 16 is a blast!! If you are planning to try this course out, I say without a doubt, go for it.
Good time
Fun course with a lot of bunkers. Difficulty depends on tees you choose. Worth the money.
Excellent Course
Very nice course with many challenging shots. Pro shop staff was great but past that rest of staff including restaurant were not only not friendly but quite mean. Food was pretty good too. I would play there again but better not go if had a bad day a work the day before.
Surprised
I have always enjoyed plying North Hampton in the past. I was surprised that it was not in very good condition. There was very little grass on the fairways and the greens were almost bare. What a shame.
Much better this time around...
Played North Hampton two years ago back in 2013. Not sure if I caught it after a bad winter or summer (can't really remember what time of year it was) but the course was in bad shape. This time around, it was in much better shape, greens were rolling good and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Also got a hot rate on GolfNow which made it a steal. I'd definitely play it again now.
Large greens and very windy
The course is short from the red tees for women. It is still challenging. Most of the red and green tees were on the other side of the hazard from the regular men's tees. It was very windy so an added challenge to the layout with some blind shots.
The large greens rolled good but expect some 3-putts with the break, speed and wind and considerable distance you could be away from the hole.
Great course
Very challenging course. Many hills and mounds you normally don't see in Florida. Love this place!
Really Good Layout, Not in Great Shape
Played on a day when there was a sudden downpour half way through the round. The layout of the course is challenging and strategic shot placement is critical. Several holes look terrific to this golfer's eyes! However, I have some concerns about the course conditions. Right now the fairways and tee boxes are still mostly dormant with lots of irregular patches. Also, a number of greens were grass-bare (lots of areas where there seemed to be more dirt than grass). I would hope that as Spring approaches these concerns will be resolved and the conditions will improve. This could easily be a 5 star course if the fairways, greens, and tee boxes are groomed to a higher quality.
Fantastic layout
Played during a chilly day, but enjoyed myself very much anyway. Many challenging holes with Greens in good conditions.
Poorly Run
Booked as a single and expected to join others. Course had a frost delay and an outing on a Saturday morning backing up everything. My tee time meant nothing to them. Sent me off the back where those making the turn were not at all friendly. To the course's credit, Starter apologized and comped the round. My concern though was the next day when I had the same aftn tee time. Arrived at course to find the same thing - had a junior outing in the morning on a weekend that caused one hour delay. I played and it's a good course, but cancelled my round for the next day, costing me the booking fee, - had enough hassles. One time with a frost delay, I can understand, but 2 days in a row - uh-uh. Busy, poorly managed course. Go only if you have a partner, maybe.
Worth the wait
This was my first time playing this course, but I had a ball. The staff was very friendly. The course is challenging but fun. I will definitely be back. The course was packed for Monday which was surprising, but it still was a good time.
Must play course for this area
Challenging course for all levels of players.
Course condition was excellent.
Greens are very fast but true.
Staff was very friendly.
Terriic Course in Great Shape
Fantastic course, with the exception of the 1st hole, every hole was different and memorable. There are some fantastic par 3's and par 5's with a couple of really interesting short par 4's. Pace of play was great, staff were extremely nice. You must play this course if you're in the Fernandina Beach area or even just passing through!
This course is very nice
Well maintained great staff and a fun golf course for all skill levels beautiful layout
