Aerated and sanded greens
Played today with a Golfnow Deal Time for $50 walking. I was able to use some promo codes to reduce the rate.
I wish I would have known that they were aerating half of the greens. Fairways had decent coverage, but lots of unrepaired divots. Lots of unrepaired ball marks on the green also (not the courses fault). There is a sign at check in stating not to check in until 15 minutes prior to your time. We waited over 15 minutes for a guy who checked in 40 minutes early and was complaining that he was overcharged. The sign also states single riders only, even if you're from the same household, but I saw many dual rider carts. The course is not following their own rules. $50 to walk is too much for this course, in the present condition.
Well maintained
Pace of play was really excellent, fairways were in good shape, rough was cut low, greens above average. Overall a good course to play in.
Pleasantly surprised
The T time was late but the staff made it up by giving us free range balls without me asking. Good job. I was surprised how good the fairways were given the heat wave. On top of that the greens were very receptive and it was 95 degrees when we played. Despite the heat the course was in Great condition!!
Great 18
Great pace, great track , very comfortable place to play
Banged 4 my Bucks
This track is in good “covid-19” playing conditions @ least they are watering the course. not worth the price unless you get a discount rate.
Tuesday afternoon with retired soccer guys
proshop gentlemen handled crowd with exceptionally well when group was just out of order. Great staff.
Pace was right on and we finished in 4 hours.
Like the course layout!
Especially when it's hot this course is the best place to play as it's close to the beach.
Long course, not much variety
Most of the course feels the same from hole to hole. 400+ yards on every hole. Tee off with driver, long iron, chip, putt. Predictable slight dog leg to the right. Most holes par 4-5. Not a lot of variety.
Poor Customer Service
The starter was a total jerk. Two of our group members have their Player's and Long Beach Resident's Cards and he wouldn't honor their discounted rate because they renewed that day.
Also, he charged two walkers cart fees even though we said several times they were walking. Then when trying to get him to remove the fees he made it seem it was our fault we inconvenienced him.
Sunday round with wife
Our group was moving along having great golf rounding. Upon approach to 18th hole, water springkler came on before we got to Green. Messed up my score. hahaha
A little Pricey, but a Great Fun Course
Got through 18 in 3.25 hrs which was amazing! Lots of long holes, so expect to pull your driver out; which is super fun, and unexpected for a Municipal course. Only downside was, no basics in the club house like water or coffee (I guess they were out), and the fees get pretty expensive; $55 Per for the round, and $15 per person for the carts...
Other than the post Covid costs, this course is great And I highly recommend!
