Love the longer spacing time between groups
As much as Covid-19 is sucking, LB golf courses have been doing a great job.
Especially longer spacing times between groups has improved the overall experience tremendously.
I play a lot of golf. Mostly in Lb since I live here.
It can get ridiculously slow, which is super annoying and frustrating.
Please keep tee times further apart!!!
Course was closed due to Governor Newsom’s shelter in place edict.
Rainy day course
I played this course about four times a year. It is long and can be difficult. It needs to be mowed more often. I will often find myself in the fairway but in thicker grass than what I’m used to. There’s no water either. But it’s a challenge for sure.
A golfing jewel in the middle of Long Beach
The only problem w this course is the pace of play. 5 hour rounds are common. But it is a delightfully easy on the eyes and fun to play Nice carts w GPS. Great value
soccer buddies golf
I am transitioning to golf as beginner. Staff, golf cart, course were better than most I experienced past year compared to other local golf courses. Every members wants to come back again.
Big Rec 18 holes
The weather was great. The course was in good condition. Pace of play was good. We finished in just under 4 hours. This is good considering we played in the afternoon.
Slow did not finish
It was slow did not finish actually had a six Some in front of us no supervision
Please Warn When Punching
They were punching the Tee Boxes today. They should have warned us as courses do when punching greens. At least leave a couple of patches to hit from. Could not get footing on little pellets.
Easy course, hard to read greens
Course is in good condition but plays slow and has little food services. Had to go into club house and get an expensive but good tasting hot dog.
Simple Layout - 6 hour Round
Second time playing here, the course layout is quite simple, condition of the course was fair / good, but the the pace of play is unbearable. I had a 10am tee time Teed off about 30 mins late. Had to wait on every hole (some less than others), in the end played until 130pm (3.5 hours past scheduled tee time) and had finished 11 holes. I had to pick up and leave. Won’t play this course again unless they stop allowing 5 somes, or get an extremely early tee time.
Slow. Very slow
The course is gorgeous and fun to play but the pace of play is terrible. Nearly every hole tempts the hackers to wait for the green to clear when they're 240 out... Took almost 3 hours to get through 9.
This course has wide open fairways
Great fun and enjoyable course. If your looking for a good time and fun place to play your next round. Than look no further. Big Rec is fun and easy for
Any handicap golfer. Had a great round even though I shot more dbl than pars. Still always fun at big Rec.
Rec Park is an ok muni but overall good value
Rec Park is an ok course. Not terrible but not great. It’s good enough for a casual round of golf. It has some challenging holes but most are straightforward. Conditions are usually decent to good. I can’t say a ton of negative things about the course and I would play it again but you just need to know going in what to expect. Tough to find something in the South Bay that is great in terms of pace of play and conditions but Rec Park will give some of what you need.
Decent
Basic muni course.. tee’d off about 20 min late but after we got going the pace was okay!!
Make sure to tee off early though (before 710am) or good luck to ya!!!
