Chester Washington Golf Course

I mention this, because my group didn't find out about it until the first green. SURPRISE! Otherwise, this is a really fun course. Tee boxes are good. The fairways are in nice shape with ample coverage. The sand in the bunkers is very good for a muni. The greens seem like they will be good after they heal and the ball doesn't bounce two to four inches in the air on many putts. This course isn't in the best area, but there was a policeman taking his break in the parking lot (and keeping an eye on the parked cars). I will be back, but I will be sure to ask about green maintenance next time.

Course is good for beginner golfers. Advanced golfers will not find the course that challenging. The fairways are a combination of grass and dirt in more than a few places. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. I'd recommend beginning golfers and those working on aspects of their game to this course.

Always a fun layout to play. Pace was fairly good. Played on a Thursday morning, took almost 5 hours. Very green. Greens a little slow but running well.

I've been to this course many times because of decent rates, close to home, and the facility is fairly maintained. Rates here can range from $30-$50 deepening on weekday/weekend and what tee time you choose. That price usually includes a cart also. It may initially be hard to find the entrance of the course as you have to enter through a dead end of a street, look out of the "Golf Course" this way sign. The venue offers a well-maintained putting green, a mat-only driving range (but needs some maintenance), and a clubhouse. Since this course is open to the public, a lot of people come in packs of 3-5 people and wait times between holes are the number one problem here. Overall a great course to play, its just hard to wait sometimes, so I kindly ask to skip ahead of groups.

The course is reasonable and relatively cheap however this attracts a lot of golfers of all standards and play is extremely slow as a result.
Between the 9-10 there is a chance to use facilities etc but this causes further backup in play and golfers we encountered don't seem to understand letting quicker smaller groups play through.

All in all it's a good deal for 19 bucks on golfnow in the afternoon. Tee boxes need mowing, fairways are decent but the green are pretty bad. Maybe 5 or 6 are OK. We missed a lot of putts because of the greens.
Fun day though.

The pace of play was an hour less than the fastest that I have played in the past. Free carts was probably the culprit. Only glitch was the green that was under repair and couldn't be used.

This golf course has changed a lot! The course was well maintained and the greens roll very well. I was surprised to find a course in the city so well maintained. WORTH THE MONEY. DO TRY TO SET A TEE TIME BEFORE 8:00 OR ELSE ITS A MAD HOUSE.

Fun straight forward course. Some nice elevated tees. Challenging bunker locations. Sand is really hard so plan accordingly. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a well maintained course that is fun to play.

I haven't played here in probably a year. On the way to the course it looked really green. I have been playing here since I was a kid and this is THE BEST I have ever seen it. In the past sometimes the greens would be good but the rest of the course was always JUST OK. I asked if there is a new greenskeeper and of course they said yes. Since July I believe they said. I give him an A+ for his work. The starter Jason was professional and polite. Our group liked it so much we are playing again next week and I will take some pictures and post them next week.

The course is not in a great area. It's surrounded by major streets and noise on all sides. The course itself is not very exciting. This was the first and last time I'll be playing here.

Good location from freeway and enough parking lot. Only need play more faster under marshall control.

Nice course, a little pricey. Extremely slow pace! Marshal does not know how to control pace...We told him 3 times about the group in front of us and he did nothing. There are many brown patches throughout the course.

Fun challenge for a recreational Golfer and has wide fairways and plenty of space between holes for the serial slicers like myself.

Course is reasonable for the price but the fairways need some TLC, and a lot of it. Nice and friendly staff with decent driving range as well.

Played at a good pace. Course in good shape. Would play again.

Course is pretty wide open with some pretty long holes. No danger to really worry about. Good for high handicappers to build confidence.

Like most Southern California courses, it's slow. Although, this course is EXTREMLY slow! Play on a Thursday afternoon at 2pm. It was just myself and a friend. Ahead of us was a 5 some of
Walkers!!!!! And they wouldn't let us thru. Call the club house and they said that's how the course plays.
