Greens were good. Fairways so so and bunkers above average for a public course with a lot of play
Start and POP are a bit of a mess
Too many weird 2somes being sent out mixed in with normal 4somes and 3somes, as I was getting to ready for my tee time they sent out three 2somes back to back and one of the 2some refused to group up with one of the other 2somes, he shook the shop guy off and just went out anyway. What sort of organisation is that? How is that even cool?
And of course in front of us there was yet another weird 2some teeing off about 45 minutes after the original debacle. For a short course it took 4 hours and 20 minutes. There was a back up on every hole, we waited on every shot. Nobody out there helping push the pace.
Look, the place is decent, it’s a nice County course, good conditions and a fun lay out. Very popular in the local area, they do take care of the course fairly well, up to the usual Country standards that is better than City standards.
But they have got to sort out this mess that we keep seeing at every county course. Somebody has to put there foot down and say enough is enough, regardless of whether these old timers play all the time. They can’t be running be the place as if they own it!!! There are other people on the course who just want to play on time and move through the course without unnecessary delay!! It’s beyond ridiculous how anything like that is even allowed to happen all the time without recourse
Great course.
Great course, pretty good practice facilities. Better than expected greens. Wish the pace of play was better. But seems to be you got a lot of groups that are regulars. Good peoples tho! Great course if you’re new in the area and want to get to know people. Just be able to map out 4-5 hours of your time.
5.5 hour round
Get ready for some long conversations with your playing partners because the pace here is painfully slow. This course's players are not at all skill level to warrant 8 minutes between tee times. If they pushed it to 12 minute slots, pace would probably be significantly better. No Marshall in sight
Course conditions were slightly above average. Bunkers had a good amount of sand. Fairways were green with the exception of a few spots. Most of the course was green and had good coverage.
Drinks were fairly priced in the bar.
Great course, pacing and staff weren’t great.
I called the clubhouse 4 times from different tees asking for them to send a marshal out to speed up pacing. We were waiting 15 minutes at every tee.
They said they would every time and I didn’t see the marshal a single time.
A 6 hour round of golf is insane.
Course was nice though.
Pleasantly surprised had a great day
Met up with a friend of mine in LA and we got paired with two younger guys, great weather great pace no one behind us pushing us. No one in front of us slowing us down and we had an early Afternoon start. We didn’t get to play the last two holes because of darkness. But overall, it was a very good day. Most fairways were in pretty good shape. It was a few holes where the greens were pretty beat up. And bumpy. I lost my five iron, Which sucks The surrounding area was a bit concerning, but there was a very good vibe at this place and at the shooting range they played Motown so it felt like a very easy lazy
Unexpectedly nice
I was stuck on 405 on Friday driving home jumped off freeway and stumbled in about 5 in afternoon sunset was about 6:45. Walked straight on and walked front nine. Great course some surprising elevation that I never expected. Very typical la municipal course stuff, the rough is thick and kikuyu can be trickery to get out. Bunkers could use more sand. I really enjoyed the course and will be back.
Asked by starter to share golf cart with stranger when there’s plenty available
I was not too thrilled when asked to share golf cart with a stranger as many carts were available. It’s inconvenient to him for a young guy to wait for me at least 2 stops every hole except par 3’s. Plus, I like to play at my own pace without being rushed to his ball.
Greens on the front nine were very pitted and spongy. Fairways were pretty beat up and the rough was grown out. Basically, typical LA Muni golf.
Slow pace of play
Tee time 12:24, no cart at time of check in. Which meant all of them were out. Pace of play so bad, our group of 4 was back up several times, behind 2 other groups.
