About
Located high in the Sierra among towering pines and meandering creeks, Tahoe Donner Golf Club is a scenic mountain course that is a member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program. The front nine of the golf course moves clockwise while the back nine moves in reverse, providing an interesting change of pace. The unique layout features narrow fairways that are lined with trees and large, undulating greens that putt true and fast. There are bunkers strategically placed throughout and a water hazard comes into play on the last hole. Dramatic elevation changes afford views of the mountainous countryside and the abundant wildlife that call Tahoe Donner Golf Club home.

Good course, poor staff training
Staff on and off the course need training. When I approached the bag drop, the young man directed me to a cart with rain on the seat. I had to request that he should wipe it off. At lunch the wait staff seemed to ignore us once seated. We had to flag down staff to order drinks, again to order lunch and again to pay our bill.
No Notice
When I made the reservation it wasn’t apparent to me that the front nine was closed! I reviewed
the app and looked to see if that was indicated. Very obscurely in it was shown. You could do a better job of clearly showing that limitation.
Disappointed…
Bad Day
Unfortunately
1. Course was cart path only
2. Front nine closed for maintenance so you play back nine twice.
3. They scheduled a shotgun tournament at 4:00 which meant we couldn’t complete our second nine.
In addition, weather was cold and windy.
Nevertheless, despite the problems and restrictions, we hope to play the course again this summer.
Bad Start
Loved this course, challenging, in great shape,
nice people, BUT pace of play gets downgraded, actually due to starter apparently first allowing a foursome of apparent members to go out THREE MINUTES BEFORE my scheduled tee time and we were a twosome. AND this group chose to play extremely slow, not keeping sight of the foursome in front of them and not allowing us to play through. Where's the marshal when you need them? I should also say things got better when weather turned a little threatening (thunder with a fear of lightning) and many left the course. This was as we reached the turn, so things were much better on the back nine although I did get a little wet as the final six hoiles were played in a steady drizzle. (thus, the wet weather rating)

Good Course (not great.) Terrible Head Pro.
Like the title says. Good course. Tight and lots of elevation. However, the head pro (Jeff Hwang) ruined the experience for our group. We witnessed him berate a guest and then try to talk poorly about them to us. Not sure what his deal was but our groups will not longer play here.
Course is in great shape!
Greens were firm and fast. Great course layout. Knowing Tahoe courses and how bumpy the greens can be this a ten out of ten!
Nice layout but overpriced for conditions
I like the layout but it needs to grow in. Greens slower than I thought they would be. Needs a couple of years after renovations
