Tahoe Donner Golf Club

I had a great time on the course until the 9th. Green. THATS when the skies opened up and dumped hailed to the point where it was impossible to putt. After 20 minutes it started pouring down rain and melted the hail but made it impossible to play. That’s Tahoe!!!!

Wow what a great day to play golf on this beautiful course. The greens were really fast and tricky to read. We played the white tees and it was the longest 6500 yard course I’ve ever played. The first three holes are a handful. Beautiful vistas that are just breathtaking, I can’t wait to go back.

Was impressed with the greens but not happy with how difficult it was to play with many blind / tight shots . Also it was never told nor displayed at course nor website , that it is a non smoking course . My wife and I were reprimanded to extinguish our cigars on the 4 th hole ..the reasoning was we were in a forest . We have a home up here in north Lake Tahoe since mid 80's and NONE of the other tracks in area are non smoking . Also starter / pro shop should emphasize that players should leave ego at home and play appropriate tees . Was hard to watch so many on the struggle bus play from wrong tees and use driver so much .. I only used driver 4x playing from the silver tees and was thankful to keep in play and finish with a decent round . Greens will definitely add strokes to scores if not playing to right spots on greens ..

I don't want to say this as then everyone will want to go there. :-)

Yet...We play here often as well as the other courses in the Tahoe basin. TD is by far the best course in the area. Th cost is very well worth the value compared to the other nearby courses! It might not have the "name prestige" yet it is an amazing track! Kudos to the the grounds crew and the entire staff. With out a doubt our favorite course!

On our golf buddy trip we played three courses, this, Coyote Moon and Greys Crossing. This was all of our favorite. Golfing in the Sierra Nevada is always a joy and this did not let us down. The course was just wide enough to keep it reasonable. The traps were the best of the three. The greens were the best of the three and we got a replay for the cost of the carts only. Just go play it, you will love the place.

This is a lovely golf course in great condition. A lot of really fun holes with some tough par 4’s thrown in. Thoroughly enjoyed my experience!

The course was in great condition and the greens were fast! Spend some time putting and chipping before the rounds.

I thought the course played very well. The layout was challenging, but fair. The greens were very fast, and difficult to read.

From the time I pulled into the parking lot to the time I pulled out of the parking lot. Everything was fantastic. Course was in great condition. Staff was helpful and friend.
