Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Oak Glen
About
Singing Hills Golf Club offers two 18-hole championship courses, Oak Glen and Willow Glen, as well as a 9-hole, par-3 course. The courses are tucked into a valley, surrounded by mountains and sloping hillsides that provide stunning backdrops on almost every hole. The Sweetwater River runs through the Oak Glen Course, coming into play on several holes including the memorable fifth hole, which is definitely a contender for one of the best par 4s in San Diego. This challenging hole requires an accurate drive across the river. The gently rolling terrain is sprinkled with mature trees. The layout features undulating greens and tight fairways. It is a challenging golf course but it is generally forgiving off of the tees, which makes it slightly less difficult than the hillier Willow Glen Course on property.

Birthday golf
Played here for first time on my birthday to try a new course, and I had a great experience. We ran into a few slower couples that hung things up a bit, but I wasn't in much of a rush, so it was okay. Weather was brutally hot this week, but we came late enough in the day where it wasn't terrible. Course was challenging but fair, and I got my lowest score ever on a 18 hole par 72. Staff were great, friendly, and helpful. Would recommend and play here again.
working on it
This course had a few bare spots on the fairways and fringe was being replaced. But they were actively working on it. Breezed through the round in under 3 hours as it was 100 out. Greens rolled good and overall the course is in great shape.
Best value in East County
Mature course with trees. Great greens, good fairways. Not difficult if you can stay out of the trees, but still challenging.
Course is looking BAD.
Played golf at Sycuan yesterday on the Oak Glen course and wow was I disappointed!
I played there 2 months ago and it was beautiful, but now it browned out in lots of areas, very dry throughout the course and the grass is looking stressed but the greens were is great shape.
Sycuan golf course is watered by several wells located throughout the course.
excellent condition
I love this course, always maintained and wonderful views of the mountains
Goat Pasture - Very poor fairways
Greens were decent, soft and fairly beaten down, but well cared for. The fairways however are in horrible condition.
Of 10 drives in the fairway all but one was on dirt, or sitting down between puff/tuffed grass and bare spots. Many areas were marked as ground under repair.
Bunkers were rock hard, with virtually no sand, and only compressed DG that was like hitting off of a sidewalk.
Very sorry to have wasted $68 dollars. This was more like a $22 dollar local muni course.
I'll be Back
Most holes on Oak Glen are flat and straight. Nice use of trees and bunkers protecting greens. Greens are lush as are fairways. Golf carts are "high end" smooth ride with fast top speeds. GPS in cart is user friendly. Scenery is beautiful, surrounded by mountains. Top notch facility, worth the extra drive time.
Decent Course
This course was a mixed bag for me. As a scratch golfer, I like a good challenge. On the pro's side, the course was in good shape, the greens are not too tricked up, and it is a great course to walk (tons of juniors were walking and playing). On the con's side, the course lacked character. Even though it is surrounded by hills/mountains, it does not bring this into play. No sharp doglegs over the side of a mountain. In fact, it is more or less a tree-lined course that sits adjacent to the hills/mountains. The one par five on the front has a totally blind tee shot because there are trees that block your view of the fairway; another par four has a tree that literally hangs over the right edge of the green (where the pin was located). It was a pinball shot. Overall, unless you can get cart and green fee for $40 or less, there are too many other good courses in San Diego that I recommend you play.
Sycuan Oak Glen 18 lush conditions, beautiful views, wildlife
Sycuan Oak Glen course features very lush conditions, with great scenery and friendly, accommodating staff. I played Oak Glen about two weeks after they aerated the greens and they were totally healed (although a little hairy; wait for them to mow and roll for even better conditions). I went out first thing in the morning as a single ahead of a noon scramble so the course was wide open besides a few groups I caught up to on the back nine. Finished in 3 hours. They host scramble tournaments often so be sure to call ahead to check public tee time availability. It's a great golf course out in the east county countryside so be prepared for hot weather and beautiful scenery of birds/wildlife (rattlers!) and minimal housing. I highly recommend all of Sycuan's golf courses (Willow #1, Oak #2 and Pine #3--executive).
Great course!!
Great course lots of fun to play!!! My friend and I both got a notification for a hot deal at this courses and decided to go play. It's a bit of a drive out there, but well worth it!
No waiting !!!
We completed our round in less than 3 hours. That makes for a great day I hate waiting.
huh
Great course with a great price from golf now, but really slow play. No ambassador. People in front of us would not hit until the other group ahead of them was almost on the next green, even though only one of them could hit it 200 yards at best.
course was well cared for
Golf carts have teriffic gps units. They have refreshments brought around on the course including cigars, very nice. The over all experience there was a 9 out of 10. It took alittle too long to play, is my only complaint.
course under repair
rate discounted while repairs are being done
course is normally best in county
Very pleasing to play
The course was just overseeded recently and we needed to stay on the cart path, but you could tell that it is a well maintained course, the fairways, greens & bunkers were good, they are in the process of resodding several tees making them flat. The course played pretty tough due to the wet conditions & a fairly tight course. Senic holes but difficult due to lots of trees, a little bit of target golf. We really enjoyed our round
great hot deal
The course had recently been overseaded so it was cart path only and fairways were a bit shaggy. Greens rolled well but were very soft. It was a great deal for a fraction of the price and when the new grass grows in it will be in perfect shape.
Always a nice outing. Great variety of holes.
Always a nice course. Either track is good. Usually pricier than I like but got a good rate on Golf.now
All-around great experience
Course is in fantastic condition, especially compared to other courses in the area! Challenging, but fair for all skill levels. Pace of play was excellent, even given that they had three tournaments scheduled for that day. Friendly staff.
I love the course but...
On the day I played there was a tournament that was allowed to play much too slowly. The course marshals should have kept on the players to ensure a decent pace of play.
well maintened, nice fairways
despite of long waithing and hot wether i have a great time
