Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Oak Glen
About
Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan (formerly known as Sycan Resort) offers two 18-hole championship courses, Oak Glen and Willow Glen, as well as a 9-hole, par-3 course. The courses are tucked into a valley, surrounded by mountains and sloping hillsides that provide stunning backdrops on almost every hole. The Sweetwater River runs through the Oak Glen Course, coming into play on several holes including the memorable fifth hole, which is definitely a contender for one of the best par 4s in San Diego. This challenging hole requires an accurate drive across the river. The gently rolling terrain is sprinkled with mature trees. The layout features undulating greens and tight fairways. It is a challenging golf course but it is generally forgiving off of the tees, which makes it slightly less difficult than the hillier Willow Glen Course from Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan.

Good
Good course junior world boys 11- 12 boys sometimes hard to book
Slow play, high heat, average course, slightly pricey
Played Oak. Pace of play was very poor. Culminated with three groups backed up on 15 tee with a couple more on 16. Not great when it's 100 degrees out. According to the pro shop it is course policy to allow fivesomes (there were at least 2 in front of us). $60 for a Friday twilight time for a course that is just average was also not that great. Overall won't be going back. Just too many good courses in San Diego at better prices and better pace.
Worked for us
Pretty good shape, friendly folks. Enjoyed it! Recommend it to others.
The Oak Course is in great shape
Played here 6/24/13. Oak course is in great shape. Fairways is good shape, greens excellant and rolls true. A fun challenging course that requires shot placement to stay out of the trees.
Very nice
Great views and greens. Will play again when I come back to San Diego.
Love this Golf course !
Usually have a great time When I play this golf course. Not this time, Tournament bumped my tee time back 30 minutes. Play was slow. But the course is always tremendous.
Great deal with the Golfnow discount
We were able to play Oak Glen for $45 with a cart thanks to the Golfnow discount. The course is in great shape. It is a challenging course....especially if you can't keep it in the fairway. Several well placed trees will hurt you if you are off the short stuff. The pace of play was outstanding. We had a 3 some and we played in just under 4 hours.
Little sister is in great shape!
I played Oak Glen on Wed and found it mostly in great shape. The greens were beautiful (medium speed) and the fairways were immaculate. My only whine on the course condition was that the sand in the two greenside "Archies" that I visited was hard as a rock. There was a tournament ahead of my group and the tee markers except for the tips, were not set up. Oak Glen, while not as sexy as bigger sister Willow Glen, is a fun play (at the right price) ! Sycuan is a very nice resort with a very friendly and helpful staff.
Had a very nice experience with the whole resort type of condition. I will make it a must play again soon.
Course layout was challenging. I like the greens even though they were punched about a month ago. Tee boxes were level and well maintained. Looking forward to playing it again, and recommend to make it a weekend retreat, the resort is a great place to hang out.
Slow play
Course was in great shape. The only bad part of the day was the slow play. Every hole had 2 sometimes 3 groups on them. Easy 5.5 hours of play. One of the longest rounds of my life. Course was very nice thought, sand was fluffy and greens rolled true.
Oak Glenn, Sycuan is a great course and friendly staff.
Great course for me and my wife, we played the forward tees (red/burgundy), and it was challenging and fun for our skills. Oak Glenn, Sycuan did not gave me stress while playing Golf. Since it was a Wednesday, game traffic was non existent, the staff was very cordiall and helpful. I will definitely check out Golfnow .com for inexpensive Tee time for myself and my wife. We love the course.
Good course
Good course. Not hard, well maintained. Very pretty. No "Wow" factor unfortunately. I kept waiting for a signature hole or something to "pop" as far as design but, every hole was just like the next. However, the. GPS on the carts was very cool, even had flyby views.
Multiple golf courses to choose from are all excellent
I am an average recreational golfer with a 20-24 handicap. If I shoot bogey golf I'm pleased with my game. The course I played on was Oak Glen with wide enough tree lined fairways and contoured challenging greens. Excellent condition greens with soft landings. Not too many bunkers and none which guard the front of the green. It was a slow play but also it was a Friday and This course has a lot of fans. Enjoyed the outing.
Beautiful track
The full length Sycuan courses are both well maintained, and provide both nice vista, and challenging golf.
Love this course
Have played here a few times and love it, although I'd like to bring a chainsaw with me next time as I spent some quality time getting aquainted with a few trees!! Haha other than that course was in excellent shape greens were perfect and staff was really friendly!
Great walking course in good shape.
Course is well designed for the walking golfer. Tee boxes close to preceding green. Overall the fairways were in good shape with just a few bare patches. Greens were in good condition and varied between challenging and easy, offering opportunities for birdies.
better than, cottonwood, riverwalk, mission trails, balboa, coranado
hate to review and have my pace of play slowed down because of it, but credit is due here
great course, greens...perfect, scenery....beautiful,rough is better than most fairways in SD, worth the 15 min extra drive, laugh at all the cars in cottonwoods parking lot as i drive by,..
staff were great and friendly, cart girl is pretty and attentive
Nice, but fairways need some work
Greens were in excellent shape, but the fairways were patchy and in winter condition. Other than that, the course is in great shape. Pace of play was great and the beverage cart was around often
Great golf resort for everyone
Best greens in the county, nice layout, friendly staff, fast play, great value and beautiful golf resort. Very well maintained throughout.
Great greens, shame about the fairways
The Oak Glen course is in okay condition, with some of the fairways rather patchy and some indifferent lies from good shots. The greens, however, were immaculate and really quick. Checking in was easy, even though the place seemed busy. Pace of play was fine, we were round in bang on four hours, so the number of people playing did not cause any problems. Will be back to play Willow Glen on Thursday.
