Singing Hills Golf Resort at Sycuan - Willow Glen
About
Willow Glen is one of two 18-hole championship courses at Singing Hills Golf Club, which also boasts a 9-hole, par-3 course. Nestled in a valley between lush hillsides, the golf courses all offer stunning mountain views. The mountains also help to block the wind, which allows for more agreeable playing conditions. Willow Glen is slightly more challenging than the other championship course due to a hillier terrain and more fairways that are tightly lined with mature pines, oaks, and cottonwoods. The trees shape the landing zones and add definition to the doglegs. Proper placement off the tees is necessary for doing well on this course. Contoured mounding borders the greensides as well as more than 40 bunkers. Water also comes into play on six holes. The 11th through the 15th holes are an impressive stretch that presents a variety of challenges as well as unrivaled scenery.

excellent place to play, It look like PGA course.
excellent place to play, It look like PGA course..
I want to play the golf again.
The course is a little bit difficult but fun.
OK Course, Nice Greens, Poor Pace of Play
Many of the SD-area casinos have spent significantly on their golf courses (Pechanga, Barona). Can't say this is the case for Sycuan and the Oak/Willow courses. Infrastructure (other than carts and greens which are very good) and amenities are dated and or poorly maintained. Scheduled to play Oak Glen, but starter said we could play Willow and that it was open (less players) and a more "scenic/better" course. Our two was paired with a single so playing as a threesome. By hole two, we caught the foursome in front of us and from there on it was miserably slow. No marshaling and a 5-plus hour round. Many people not raking traps, fixing ball marks and certainly not playing "ready" golf. Great greens, but the slow pace ruined what could have made for a nice day.
Great Course, Poor Pace of Play
There was a marshal on the course but did nothing to help speed up play. I was part of a two some, there was a two some in front of us, then 3 foursomes that were painfully slow. After breezing through the first three holes, we caught up to the log jam. On every par three the the two groups in front of us were waiting to hit when we arrived at the tee box. Total round was just under 5 hours. on a slow drizzly day.
Good Day
Great course with challenging holes and very well kept. Greens were so tough to read, which made it Fun:)
Great Time
Course was well kept and the greens were as true as ever. Great rates for this type of course. Military members have better rates by calling. The only "complaint" was only seeing the Cart Lady once, but there were ample opportunities to fill up at other places on the course, my timing was off tho. Great place to play, don't hesitate.
Enjoyable
Got a "Hot Deal" to play this course. It's a good resort type course. It doesn't beat you up. There are some challenging holes and some are narrower so you have to be able to hit a straighter shot off the tee, but the course isn't terribly long so being a little shorter off the tee doesn't hurt.
Nice chipping and putting area to practice or warm up. The driving range is off mats but you can go in front of them to tee some up.
Beautiful Course w/challanges
Really nice facilities and staff. Pace was average but to be expected since they consider this a "resort". Had to wait a bit on each hole, but not bad. The greens were in great shape and the pin placements were tough. The course is pretty straight forward, but does require some ball placement and strategy with the trees and hazards involved. Fun to play!
Beautiful
The layout was awesome and the greens and fairways were in excellent shape
Enjoyable Outing
I booked a three generation outing for myself, my dad and my son (78, 54, 27). My son invited his friend last minute and the friendly staff added this forth for the same advance booking rate! The putting green and driving range were busy yet in good condition. The course was in very good condition, greens were medium to quick and well groomed though a bit spotty from some folks not fixing their ball marks. The course was green and the grounds crew kept the greens watered mid-day amidst unseasonable 80+ degree sunshine! Pace of play was good and we saw the marshall on both the front & back side! On this first visit, we enjoyed our day together as well as the course layout. We'll definitely be back!
Great test
Great test for all levels, some slow play due to weekend party golfers, but it’s a nice track
Still a great course
still love this course after 30 years. the driving range the putting green the chipping greens and the different courses you have to choose from.
only thing I would change is the cart and beverage service. the beverage cart past us one time throughout the day and they didn't stop to see if we were in need of anything
A hidden San Diego
I skipped the reviews, and went into this course with no expectations. I have to say it was an excellent experience. The course grass (not sure what type) actually plays better as the day goes on. According to the starter is has something to do with the greens blooming after midday (I'm writing this review several months after playing so its tough to recall the exact conversation). Even though the region had virtually zero rainfall in the months prior, the conditions were pristine. There were minimal bare spots on the turf and everything was well manicured. To enable the fairways and putting surfaces to stay green, they have to sacrifice watering some of the outer regions of the fairways. You'll see these areas that are mulched. Good news is the mulch is laid down neatly and has an aesthetic appeal, and you can take a drop should an errant shot land there. When I landed a good shot on the green it didn't bounce or skip off like some other courses in the area. I found the course staff to be very courteous and friendly. My only gripe was that there was minimal marshal presence which only really factored in on a few of the holes where there were bottlenecks. Still, I didn't have to wait too long and finished in around 4 1/2 hours which is just right for me (a round that is too quick takes away from the experience IMO). The course is challenging but i didn't find it to be frustrating at all. The course conditions will help any golfer. Great experience and I am definitely planning to make a return trip soon.
Golf anytime
I only got to play two holes had a family emergency, the staff there was nice enough to return my money, I definitely will play there again
