Willow Glen is one of two 18-hole championship courses at Singing Hills Golf Club, which also boasts a 9-hole, par-3 course. Nestled in a valley between lush hillsides, the golf courses all offer stunning mountain views. The mountains also help to block the wind, which allows for more agreeable playing conditions. Willow Glen is slightly more challenging than the other championship course due to a hillier terrain and more fairways that are tightly lined with mature pines, oaks, and cottonwoods. The trees shape the landing zones and add definition to the doglegs. Proper placement off the tees is necessary for doing well on this course. Contoured mounding borders the greensides as well as more than 40 bunkers. Water also comes into play on six holes. The 11th through the 15th holes are an impressive stretch that presents a variety of challenges as well as unrivaled scenery.

Tournament

I played here on a weekday afternoon. Unfortunately there was a massive tournament going on at the course the same day. The parking lot was so full, I could barely find parking. The course was obviously packed. I understand courses host tournaments, but there was no mention of this when I booked and no easy way to find out ahead of time. Really poor customer service.

Warm day

All the courses at singing hills are nice , we played willow glen and it was nice . Our biggest gripe was that there was no water available for the golfers unless you caught the drink cart which we saw twice . Absolutely unacceptable under the heat wave conditions. The other issue was all the cups lips were rounded off at first we thought it was from players sticking there clubs into the cup to get their balls out , but as we played on it was obvious it was done that way . Either they cut the holes with a very dull cutter or it’s something new . All we know is a lot of putts that would have normally dropped if the cups were cut with nice sharp edges like you normally see all lipped out off the rounded edged 🤷‍♂️🏌🏾‍♂️

Good track

Golf was good. Great greens and good layout. Pro shop staff was very disinterested in being helpful to golfers at check in. Starter was very friendly and gave good layout of the course. Never saw a cart girl. Smart to bring your own water on a hot day!

Greens Aerated

They aerated the greens on this course on 6/25/24. Of course, they did not reveal this when I made my tee time and they offered NO discount even though the greens are essentially unplayable. They also were letting out multiple fivesomes which made the pace of play ridiculously slow. The customer service here is really sad.

Could be better

The cashier was not warm and there wasn’t a starter to give directions. There was no beverage cart.

Singing Hills Willow Glen grants beauty, challenge, & golf elegance

Willow Glen grants beauty, challenge, & golf elegance with lyrical water hazards, canyons, and aesthetic crevices. Facilities on the links and in the clubhouse are appropriately posh without airs of elitist exclusions. All are welcome. Pace of play acceptable. Without GolfNow savings, Willow Glen is pricey however.

Great course and excellent experience

I have played Willow Glen many times and seen it in various conditions. At the moment the course could not be in better shape. The greens were all perfect, fast and rolled true. fairways and bunkers also in perfect shape. Staff was friendly and welcoming and they don't gouge you at the snack bar. Prices are fair. The only negative at the moment is that the driving range is being re-sodded. Looks like it will be really nice very soon.

Great Value

Best course in San Diego for the value. Greens, tees, and fairways were in great condition and the pace of play was great for a mid morning tee time on a Sunday.

Course has been under construction for a long time, charging full price to play is ridiculous

I’ve been a long time player of Singing Hills. Yes, they are making improvements, but the cost of play here is way out of line. It’s a mid-level course at best, and with the recent price hikes it’s way over priced. It took over 5 hours to play Willow Glen, because there are no marshals anywhere to be found to move slow players along, and the course wasn’t even that busy. Construction equipment all over the course, cart paths closed, equipment and trash in areas on many holes. Greens were “Ok” at best, very inconsistent. Basically since Covid this course and its owners think it’s much better than it is, and while clearly it will be “improved” (although courses are exactly the same and they demoed Pine Glen) once construction is completed, how about charging prices that are more in line with the current conditions? I would not recommend this course, other courses in the area are better, and they don’t overcharge for what basically comes down to facilities improvements, not course upgrades. Building a soccer complex on a golf course (current construction) might be a windfall for the owners, but does nothing for the golfers or the golfing community that has been loyal to Singing hills for many years. How about focusing on golf, and not changes that just try to justify the increased prices to take advantage of the golfers?

Beautiful course

Great course but didn’t see a Marshall on either Oak Glen nor Willow Glen. Pace of play was 5.3 hours for 18. Absolutely beautiful scenery and the course was in great shape. We did encounter a group (7) of teenagers walking around being typical teenager punks yelling as we hit. I think the clubhouse should take note of random people just being able to get on not having anything better to do.
