About
Opened in 1923, Ojai Valley Inn Golf Course is one of California's first great courses. Over the decades that the course has been open, it has hosted a number of professional players and celebrities ranging from Arnold Palmer to Will Smith. George C. Thomas, Jr., who created the Riviera, collaborated with Billy Bell to design the original golf course but Jay Morrish made the layout considerably more challenging with renovations in 1988. Ten years later, two holes from the original Thomas/Bell layout that were lost during a redesign following WWII were completely restored and incorporated into the layout. The challenging golf course is very narrow in some spots and it features undulating greens that putt fast and true. The layout is not particularly long but it requires accuracy and proper club selection in order to score well.

Golfer Reviews
The course was in good shape even in the heat, and the staff was just out of this world! Tremendous day at Ojai and Jimmy’s Pub!
Ojai Valley Golf was fantastic!
Ojai Valley Inn & Spa was fantastic. We had breakfast before our round at the The Oak which was superb. The golf course and the weather could not have been better. We had one issue on the back nine where the short uphill par 3 green was having an issue so they hadn’t mowed it for a few days…otherwise, the course was in great great shape!
Worth it if you get a hot deal
Course layout is good and pace of play that day was great 3 1/2 hr round! Fairways good and had at least 3 greens that had disease taken over and are horrible. One temporary tee box that has been that way for years. Staff super friendly
80 degrees and breezy; perfect golf weather
Course overall in very good condition. #6 and 8 greens are rough and being tended to, shortened 28 tee box makes for an anticlimactic finish.
Greens Recovery in Progress
Hole 8 needs more time. Other than that hole, the course is in great conditions. Don't over-read the breaks as the greens roll pretty true.
Beautiful Saturday Golf
Perfect weather on a great course. Who could ask for more. Course was in great shape and I played in under 3 hours.
A bit of heaven!
My husband and I love to play this course and have seen it in pristine condition many times, but several greens today were in pretty bad shape, like a disease. Hopefully they can be repaired soon before they get worse. Other than that, it is at the top of our list of favorite courses.
Fun Course
Great history, fast greens. Ojai Valley Inn is top notch golf. The pace was great and Jimmy's after the round was relaxing
Besides a par three green under repair on the front the course was is excellent shape and fun to play.
