9th hole on Canyon. One of the most picturesque holes on the course. Tough hole that plays into the wind. Photo submitted by aliikane10 on 07/14/2017

Cinnabar Photo submitted by johnwunderlich on 07/12/2014
Great course, little steep on price, greens are tough.
Very creative design and plays tough for average golfer like myself with a 12 index. Recommend spending time on practice green and looking at hole from all sides to read breaks. Carts have gps with lots of info to assist with not only club selection but where to hit the ball. You must layup on several holes and hit long enough to clear ravines on others. Enjoyed this course a lot and hope to play Lakes nine. Played Mountain and canyon. Well done!
Challenging Course with Fast Greens
I try to play this course every time I'm in the San Jose area. All three nines are fun, the course is well maintained, and the greens are fast. The course is away from the pressure of civilization, with no homes surrounding it. Play the right tees and you'll love the golf experience.
Very difficult set up on this date
This is a course I really like playing. However on this date they had set the Cinnabar tees almost back to the championship tees. Never had seen that before, which made the tee shots quite difficult and 2nd shots 3-woods. In some cases I still could not reach the green. All groups playing were having trouble, which accounts for the unusually long rounds played. They should have warned us and others beforehand and suggested playing from forward tees for anyone not with a single digit handicap. The greens which are always fast, were unusually fast, which added to the stroke count in our foursome, except for one player, a 4-handicap.
wide variety of holes
excellent public access course
unfortunately, played it shortly after aeration and sanding
Great course, really enjoyed it.
I have played at this course a few times, and really enjoyed it.
The greens were tricky. It was aerated not long ago. Holes and sands. But, still pretty fast, especially, when playing Mountain course first.
Overall, a 5-star experience. Giving it 4-star for the recently aerated green.
The course is good
I feel good whenever I play at this course.
I love fast green and this course has fast green
Used to be a lot nicer
While the course is in decent shape, it used to be maintained at a lot higher degree. Bare spots in fairways, etc, that never used to be there. That being said, it is still a good track and the greens are very good!
just great.
beautiful scenery, challenging course layout and green. It is my favorite golf course in San Jose Area.
Great course! Look for discounted rates though.
This course was absolutely beautiful. From the clubhouse/ restraunt to the course this screamed championship course. The greens are very well maintained and quite fast. The course has 3 9 hole course each with its own unique characteristics, but so much you feel like you stepped off one course and onto another. In general though, the course plays narrow. While you can certainly recover when off the fairway, be careful not to miss to much because the rough is not particularly wide before you start flirting with OB, hazards, and environmental areas.
While the course is beautiful and challenging, it is a bit pricey. A course of this callibur though is certainly warranting of the price. As mentioned previously is feels and plays like a championship course. For an occasional play one a month or so it is certainly worth it for the experience, but for the folder that plays weekly, it adds up. The good news though, this course usually always has discounts if you book on line through golf now which can save you anywhere from 20-40% depending on the time and day.
If you do decide to play this course I recommend showing up 30-45 minutes before hand though (or save some time after the round) to walk around the restaurant area and look at all the golf history memorabilia from a bunch of majors and legendary golfer such as the master at Agusta and Players Championships.
I look forward to playing this course again!
Challenging Courses, But Worth Every Cent
Beautifully maintained course that is very challenging. If making your way up the fairway doesn't get you, the greens sure will. Greens arent just really fast, but are extremely tricky to read, especially for those that haven't played the course very much.
One of the few courses I play, that even if you don't Score well, you are just happy to be out there.
If you can find a discount then this course is a must play.
scenic setting, lots of interesting shot challenges
I might have given the course a pristine rating, but the smooth fast greens had ball marks everywhere! I guess the players at this upscale course don't have time to use their divot tools!
Great course to play, but not for beginners.
It was a fair course, great views and course condition. I would not recommend this course for players who can't hit a high ball. Too many force carries. Overall a good course.
Very challenging course although views are outstanding and it's a good test of your game.
Wonderful course out of town up in the south San Jose hills. Very challenging greens will test your putting. This course is a treat to play and very different from all the older munis in the Bay Area.
Invigorating challenge.
Greens in good shape with challenging slopes.
Fairways are inviting and elusive to the 95 above golfer.
I enjoy golfing and the courses at Cinnabar are challenging and provide a vista that can relax the most tense mind.
Best public course in South Bay
I always enjoy playing here because of the conditions, the routing and the greens. The greens are some of the best in the area and always run true. Each of the nines is different and has holes that challenge your shotmaking. The one downside is the pace can sometimes be slow because there are holes that can eat a few golf balls if you aren't careful. Pace of play aside you will have a lot of fun on this course.
course was in great condition
challenging course but fun to play. weather, course conditions, and pace of play were all excellent.
Nice day, great course
Overall the course was in great shape. Greens were a bit hard but putted true. Always a good experience at Cinnabar.
A favorite place to play, Cinnabar does a lot of things right.
I always enjoy playing and practicing at Cinnabar. The ownership seems to care what golfers want, and make the effort to offer it. I really like the facility.
Awesome course, challenging, fun, great shape.
Awesome course, challenging, fun, great shape. We had a fantastic time. I wished I had time to go around again!
