Returning Golfer

I love Scrabo golf course. I was a member 25 years ago, and returning now to see how the course has matured and been manicured, with new rock walls, and mini gardens, where there was previously gorse bushes. The now much taller trees and rough, provide more challenges than before, but, this encourages more straight shoots.

Using intelligent shots is key to shooting a good score here....

Oh and the views, are as superb as ever.

Cracking course, with some amazing Views.

Amazing course and exceptional value, definitely worth a play if you're in the North and want a test of your accuracy. Left with a smile on my face.

Walked

Excellent course as always.

We walked this course, whereas a lot of people use buggies. As a result those in front of us never held us up. We were out late morning. Course in excellent condition as always. A tough but fair track and the variety of holes here is always a pleasure to play. Be aware it is hilly in parts so you need to be fairly fit to walk. It's a must play course (try to do it on a low wind day as it's very high up and very difficult to play in the wind) for everyone. Not one negative on this course. The price of playing is increasing all the time. Not just here, but everywhere.

Gorgeous Course

One of the most beautiful courses I've ever played! Views are insane and the course is a test of golf with some blind tee shots, elevation changes and tight fairways. Truly hidden gem and what an experience! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves golf

Amazing Views

Good little course on top of hill overlooking Newtownards and with great views of Mournes, Ards Peninsula and beyond. The course whilst being in reasonable order is very tight especially if there’s any significant wind-and there always is! Staff are great and food good in restaurant

Dry underfoot

Great to play somewhere which was dry underfoot. Not too keen on a few fairways that cross over and not really well signposted, however it was a good day out.

Good course questionable greens

Greens filled with sand but likely due to amount of rainfall.

Tricky

Quite a few blind shots it’s the hills your climbing. Some real toughT shots we used a buggy so could drive up the holes to see our line. Make sure you take a few xtra balls in the bag.

Spectacular Scrabo

This was my first outing at Scrabo. The weather was crisp, blue skies with white clouds for most of the afternoon and no rain thankfully. Upon arrival to the car park it was clear that the views were going to be quite breathtaking - you can see right over to the kingdom of Mourne, around the entire Strangford Peninsula, North Down and the greater Belfast area, right over to Ligoniel. Stunning. The course is great fun and although there were temporary greens due to the weather, the four of us had a blast, Any staff or club members we spoke to on our round were super friendly, offering advice and clearly happy that we were visiting their course. IMO this was a super experience and one I’d highly recommend- all of this combined with a great deal from Golf Pass on the green fees and some good craic and golf, I’m confident this is an experience that shall be treated by us in the not too distant future. Thanks Scrabo.

This course is one in a million

Scrabo Golf Course was in fantastic condition. It was almost like playing during summer time. It is a real challenge and certainly a course you would wish to play.A friend described it as a golfers course and you would not play many harder courses than Scrabo. A great time was had and praise to the course staff for the great condition of the course.
